Seongsu fish steak restaurant with a dog terrace: Billadeubeulleu

In short

Billadeubeulleu Seongsu is a dog-friendly Italian restaurant with an outdoor terrace on Seoul Forest 2-gil in Seongdong, Seoul. After a walk in Seoul Forest with the dog Beosuni, the writer ate on the terrace: polpo mambo 25,000 won, Sicilian puttanesca pasta 19,000 won and jondori meuniere 26,000 won, with tender octopus and a deeply savory, salty pasta. If only one dish, it is the jondori meuniere, lifted by bright lemon acidity.

This is a place I visited with my dog Beosuni after a walk in Seoul Forest. I kept thinking about it long after I left.

It's an Italian restaurant called Billadeubeulleu near Seoul Forest in Seongsu — the outdoor terrace is dog-friendly, and the ingredient detail is a step above other Italian spots, so I wanted to introduce it!

It's been a while since I found an Italian restaurant this good with such a nice atmosphere — great for a friend hangout or a date.

It's not far from Seoul Forest, so it's easy to pair with a walk. The best part was being able to sit on the outdoor terrace with my dog without worrying about anyone minding.

The atmosphere was relaxed and the tables were spaced generously, so it felt right for a date or a family gathering too.

🐕 What to know before bringing a dog to Billadeubeulleu Seongsu

Billadeubeulleu Seongsu allows dogs to sit with you on the outdoor terrace. I brought Beosuni to the terrace too.

Indoors, dogs apparently need to be inside a carrier bag with even their head covered. Dog-friendly rules keep changing lately, so it's worth calling ahead to confirm — a Naver Map update dated June 16 mentioned this, for reference!

Beosuni doesn't like feeling cooped up, so I went with the outdoor terrace.

🐙 Polpo mambo: how tender is the octopus?

Polpo mambo is an octopus dish, and from the first bite you could tell they really know how to prep and cook octopus. Octopus can easily turn chewy, but here it was tender enough to fall apart the moment you bit into it.

The octopus's natural savoriness came through so well I wanted to order wine to go with it.

The bean and potato garnish dipped in the sauce was also delicious. Even my boyfriend was surprised.

🍝 Sicilian puttanesca pasta: a deep southern Italian tomato sauce

This dish is a Southern Italian tomato-and-oil-based pasta with eggplant, olives, capers, anchovies, and tomato. Every ingredient's presence comes through clearly, so if you like salty, savory-loaded flavors, this will be right up your alley. The deep saltiness from the olives, capers, and anchovies balanced nicely with the soft texture of the eggplant, and I cleaned the plate in no time.

🐟 Jondori meuniere: a lemony, savory fish steak

Jondori meuniere is a fish steak dish, and with lemon in the mix it had a bright, salty flavor that made it my favorite of the three. The fish's clean flavor paired with the lemon's acidity kept it from feeling heavy, so I enjoyed it all the way to the end.

The fish steak's tender texture was great too, and the plating was gorgeous — a dish that satisfied the eyes as much as the palate.

Can you see how tender this is? It went really well with the arugula on the side.

💡 If I had to pick just one of the three, I'd recommend the jondori meuniere. The bright lemon and salty seasoning were well balanced, and it went down easily even when I had no appetite.
