I visited Center Coffee, one of my favorite chain cafés. It's on B1 of East Pole, connected to Guui Station in Gwangjin, so it's super accessible, and the coffee is always good.

What is the space and seating like at Center Coffee Guui East Pole?

Center Coffee Guui East Pole is a large café with high ceilings and generous spacing between seats. Thanks to the quiet atmosphere, it's always a pleasant place to visit. Some people were studying, others were having dessert after a meal.

The subtle, flower-like coffee aroma drifting through the café was lovely too. The staff recommended coffees to me — very kind, and you could tell they took real pride in their coffee.

Café seating with a long table for groups

There are also long tables set up for group guests. In particular, I saw a lot of parents from around Guui-dong bringing their kids.

It's hard to imagine what a pour-over coffee tastes like from the name alone, right? At Center Coffee, you can read the coffee notes and smell the aroma before ordering.

There was a wide variety of drip bags and beans too. The packaging is so pretty that they'd make great Chuseok gifts. There's cold brew concentrate, various drip coffees, and whole beans.

Ordering the Ecuador Finca wave honey pour-over, jasmine tea and tiramisu

Today I ordered the Ecuador Finca Sollendad Cidra washed honey, jasmine tea, and tiramisu.

The coffee note card was so pretty I could see using it as a bookmark. It had a QR code so you could read more detail. The coffee had notes of rose, raspberry jam, and plum — it had this charming quality, like drinking a deeply aromatic tea and coffee at once.

Among the pour-overs I really love the Geisha, but if you're looking for something with a gentler floral scent, I'd recommend this Ecuador Finca.

What does the tiramisu at Center Coffee taste like?

The tiramisu is really delicious too. I favor tiramisu because it pairs so well with coffee, and Center Coffee's version is especially moist, with the cream and sponge coming together in nice harmony.

The finely dusted cocoa powder, the sweet cream, and the soft sponge — this is my favorite dessert at Center Coffee, and it holds up well against any café I've tried.
