Suji noodle spot for Daegu udon set and kimchi bibim guksu: Chilseong

I was looking for somewhere to eat out with my kid and ended up at Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch. I usually love simple meals like noodles or udon, and I'd heard this place has a really wide menu, so I was curious~ Choosing what to order with a kid is always a bit of a headache, but Chilseong Jemyeonso has everything from noodles to pork cutlet, mandu, and gukbap (Korean soup with rice), so I figured it'd work well for a family meal.

Where is Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji, and what are the hours and parking?

Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch is at 1F 104-ho, 80 Seongbok1-ro, Suji-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do. It's open daily from 11:00 to 21:00, with last order at 20:30.

The restaurant is on the first floor of the Seohee Star Hills building, and you can use the building's underground parking lot, which made parking easy.

What is the dining room like?

Walking in, the space was bigger and cleaner than I expected. Wood-toned tables and chairs gave the whole place a warm feel, and the round lighting fixtures on the ceiling had a soft glow that made it feel cozy.

The tables weren't cramped either, so it was comfortable for a family meal. Even though I went during an early dinner slot, families with kids kept walking in the whole time~ I guess that's why so many people come here looking for good food near Seongbok Station.😊

The menu: noodles, pork cutlet, mandu and gukbap

I spent a good long while agonizing over the menu.😊 There was everything from udon, guksu, and jjolmyeon (chewy cold noodles) to pork cutlet, mandu, and gukbap~ The restaurant makes its own broth in-house and serves a variety of noodle dishes, including its signature hayan-myeon (white noodle) among other options you can choose based on taste.

There was so much on the menu I wanted to try it all~😅 Since we'd made the trip, I figured we might as well order a bit of everything.

Daegu Bukseongro udon set: the pork cutlet won the child over

First, the Daegu Bukseongro udon set was a plain, clean-tasting udon that wasn't too intense — great. Most importantly, it wasn't a heavy dish to share with my kid, who ate the udon fine but really dug into the pork cutlet that came with the set. If you're visiting with kids, I'd say this menu combo works pretty well.

Fresh-noodle kimchi bibim guksu: tangy and crisp

The fresh noodle kimchi bibim guksu came with vegetables mixed in, giving it a tangy, crunchy texture I liked. The sauce blended well with the noodles and had a flavor that made you want more — I personally love this kind of bibim guksu, so I enjoyed it a lot.

Flat mandu with seasoned vegetables

And then the vegetable-mixed flat mandu (dumplings) I love! I'm a big fan of bibim mandu, and pairing the vegetable mix with flat mandu worked really well together. The portion wasn't too much either, so it was a perfect side dish alongside all the other menus we ordered.

Old-school tteokkkochi (rice-cake skewers)

Last was the nostalgic tteokkkochi, which I ordered on a sudden craving! It felt like a welcome blast from the past. Sweet and delicious, tasting just like the ones I ate as a kid — good for snacking on one at a time alongside the meal.

Worth returning to for a family dinner?

Overall, everything we ordered was solidly delicious, so I left satisfied. This felt like a great place to visit when you want to eat several different dishes rather than just pick one. With such a wide range of noodle dishes, I'd like to try the ones I missed next time. If you're looking for a good restaurant in Suji for a family meal with lots of options, I'd recommend Chilseong Jemyeonso~ The best part was that everyone from kids to adults could pick their own dish.
