Kid-friendly seafood boil near Moda Outlet in Daegu: Sin Yeongung
In short
Sin Yeongung Cheonggukjang Haemulttukbaegi Seongseo Moda Outlet branch is a seafood-focused Korean restaurant in Dalseo, Daegu, right next to Moda Outlet. The writer ordered the medium seafood boil platter in mild spice for 49,000 won, a pork cutlet on its own for 8,000 won and a bowl of rice to share with a child, then finished the pasta noodles hidden under the seafood along with the self-serve bar and brewed coffee. Because the mild version is gentle enough for children and the restaurant has private rooms for groups, Sin Yeongung works well for family meals and work dinners alike.

Let me introduce the most generous and best-looking seafood dish I've eaten. This place has a comfortable dining room, a variety of seating types, and facilities suited to group gatherings — the upscale, clean interior and friendly staff put me in a good mood right away. I recommend it to anyone craving delicious Korean food built around seafood. Here's my honest review of Sin Yeongung Cheonggukjang Haemulttukbaegi, a Daegu Seongseo restaurant located at the Dalseo-gu Moda Outlet.

Where do you park? Public lot free for 1 hour
Sin Yeongung Cheonggukjang Haemulttukbaegi is located at the Moda Outlet in Seongseo, Dalseo-gu, Daegu. It's also one of the most popular seafood spots in this area. There are about 5 parking spots in front, but don't worry even if that's full.

There's a large public parking lot right behind the restaurant, and it's free for 1 hour if you have a meal, so you can visit without worrying about parking.
Inside Sin Yeongung: seating and the private group rooms
You can sense professionalism from the entrance. The space displays the restaurant's brand award history and TV appearances.

The interior is clean and modern. The cleanliness and the staff's friendliness left a strong impression. With bright wood-tone interiors, there's a variety of seating — 2-seat tables, 4-seat tables, solo-dining seats, and group seating.

The restaurant is fairly spacious, and the warm lighting and natural light make it feel cozy. It's so minimal and clean that, before even thinking of it as a restaurant, it felt more like a café. I'd recommend this Korean restaurant to anyone who values hygiene.

There's also a separate private room. Isn't this more upscale than most hanjeongsik (Korean set-meal) restaurants? There's enough seating and privacy for a small event, a work dinner, or even a large family gathering. I had no idea a place this classy existed near the Moda Outlet — I really found a gem of a spot for gatherings.
What we ordered and what it cost, plus the self-serve bar and coffee

✔️Seafood boil platter (medium) mild spice 49,000₩, ✔️pork cutlet only 8,000₩, and rice. It was mild, but I ordered the pork cutlet too just in case it was too spicy for the kid.

Don't miss the review event either. They give you 2 fried shrimp or a lemonade.

The self-serve bar is kept clean. From fresh, crisp salad that whets your appetite to tidy side dishes, you can help yourself whenever you need more.

Even dessert was properly prepared — there's brewed coffee and instant mix coffee. The brewed coffee tasted quite good, probably because they use good beans, good enough that you wouldn't need to go to a café afterward.
Side dishes and the 8,000-won pork cutlet the kid devoured

This is the rich barley tea served as the default water — much nuttier and tastier than plain water. As befits a Korean restaurant, the side dishes were salad, gochujang (chili paste) seasoned radish greens, diced radish kimchi, and stir-fried fish cake. Each side dish was clean and good quality. The salad dressing especially was refreshing and paired well with the seafood.
I ordered this mainly for the kid, but I was surprised at how good the pork cutlet turned out to be. Instead of the cheap, ground-meat cutlet you often get, this was a good thickness, no off-smell, and crisp with quality meat. The kid pretty much devoured it alone. If you're visiting with a child, I strongly recommend this menu item. Even the sauce is delicious!
Medium seafood boil platter in mild spice: gentle enough for a child

The seafood boil platter (medium) arrived. The medium size had way more volume than I expected. The amount and variety of seafood piled on top was impressive too.
A lot of restaurants that serve seafood stew or seafood dishes pad the dish out with a mountain of bean sprouts to make it look more generous. But Sin Yeongung Cheonggukjang Haemulttukbaegi is an honest restaurant that fills the plate with actual seafood.
A staff member kindly cut up the squid and octopus for us. She said she does this herself because these ingredients have moisture and could splatter. I really appreciated that kind of thoughtful care. The buttery aroma was just right, and the American-style boiling sauce paired perfectly with the seafood — the mild spice level meant even kids could eat it. It's a special menu item great for a family meal out, and the presentation is so good it's also great for treating an important guest.

Dip a bite lightly in soy sauce with the individually packaged wasabi mixed in for even richer flavor. A true rice thief!
Underneath, there's also a generous amount of pasta noodles. You can enjoy seafood and spaghetti at the same time — isn't that great value? Nothing goes to waste, and there's plenty for a group to share and get full. Meaty crab, chunky octopus, big scallops, squid, corn, mussels, roe, gonchi (pollack roe sac), shrimp, spaghetti, rice cakes, and smiley potatoes — it's fun picking through everything. It works as a meal and as a great drinking-food pairing.
Is Sin Yeongung worth it? Final verdict
It had been a while since I had seafood, and my stomach felt comfortable even after eating. The seafood boil platter is a dish where nothing on the plate goes to waste, packed full of good ingredients. It looks great, and for this amount of food at this price, it's excellent value. There wasn't a hint of fishy smell, and it tasted satisfying to the very last bite. Beyond the food, the clean side dishes, self-serve bar, and other extras were all on point. This is truly a restaurant that puts care into every single dish. The upscale atmosphere and friendly staff made me want to come back again. With its spacious dining room, plenty of seats, and even private group rooms, this precious restaurant — Sin Yeongung Cheonggukjang Haemulttukbaegi, a Daegu Dalseo Seongseo restaurant located at the Moda Outlet — is one I'd happily return to.
