After lunch with my daughter and my sibling, we were shopping at Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo when a sweet dessert craving hit, so we stopped by Wunder Coffee Bar. This coffee bar actually started in Bucheon Yeokgok, but it also has a branch inside Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo, which made it a nice light stop while shopping.

Wunder Coffee Bar is on B1 (basement level 1) of Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo. Once you head down to B1, look for the F&B food court — the café is tucked inside it rather than being a big standalone shop like a typical independent café. If it's your first visit you might think, "where exactly on B1?" but heading toward the B1 food court / Food Square area makes it easy to find. Just a heads up: there isn't a wide dedicated café seating area right in front of Wunder Coffee Bar — you use the shared food court seating instead.

Wunder Gato mix: half hojicha, half vanilla

🍨 Wunder Gato Wunder Gato is one of Wunder Coffee Bar's signature menu items — like an affogato, coffee served with ice cream, but the fun part is you get to pick the ice cream flavor. You can choose from hojicha (roasted green tea), vanilla, or mix. After some deliberation, my sibling went with the mix! It lets you enjoy hojicha and vanilla half-and-half, so you get to try both flavors at once.

Eating it with the coffee really brought out that distinct nutty, subtle aroma of hojicha. When you say affogato, you usually picture vanilla ice cream, but adding hojicha gave it a bit more of a nutty, deep flavor. Personally, I loved this hojicha aroma. 🤎

Picked vanilla since a little one would be eating it

Ordering the Wunder Gato alongside the ice cream meant we could each enjoy coffee and ice cream separately, which was nice. It normally comes topped with cinnamon powder and cookie chunks, but when I mentioned my kid would be eating it, they kindly left the cinnamon powder off ✨ So thoughtful.

Wunder Coffee is Wunder Coffee Bar's signature coffee menu item — a sweet milk base topped with cream. If you prefer smooth, sweet coffee over a clean, bitter Americano-style coffee, this is the one for you. I've really been into these cream lattes lately, and Wunder Coffee Bar's Wunder Coffee is genuinely, seriously delicious — highly recommend. Paired with the ice cream, it was the perfect combo for when you're running low on sugar mid-shopping.

What made it fun was being able to choose your ice cream flavor, unlike a typical affogato. We had the Wunder Gato mix, and I liked being able to taste vanilla's sweetness alongside hojicha's nutty aroma at the same time. Next time, I'd love to try the hojicha ice cream on its own. ☕️🍦
