Paju Unjeong BBQ with group seating for company dinners: Tannae Paju
In short
Tannae Paju Main Branch is a charcoal-grilled pork barbecue restaurant in Garam-maeul, Unjeong, Paju, serving selected white pork. Two servings of selected pork neck and one serving of marinated giant pork came out already pre-grilled by the owner, needing only a quick finish over the charcoal, and the free crab doenjang stew (soybean paste stew with blue crab) plus sides like myeolchi-jeot (fermented anchovy dip) and green onion kimchi were just as good. With group seating available, Tannae Paju Main Branch is worth booking for a company dinner in Unjeong.

Where is Tannae Paju Main Branch in Unjeong?
I was looking for somewhere to eat meat in Paju Unjeong and ended up at Tannae Paju Main Branch in Garam-maeul. It's located on Garam-ro 73, near the Garam-maeul area. The name itself is a bit unusual — 'Tannae' (탄내) means the smell of burning charcoal. Based on their philosophy of only serving good meat, they say they use selected white pork cuts.

Hours are Monday to Sunday, 16:00 to 23:00.
Worth noting if you're also looking for a dinner spot near Unjeong Lake Park.
Selected pork neck for two, pre-grilled over charcoal
That day at Tannae Paju Main Branch, I ordered two servings of selected pork neck and one serving of marinated giant pork skewer.

I tried the selected pork neck first, and it was way better than I expected.

The thick-cut pork neck comes already pre-grilled by the owner himself, so all you have to do at the table is finish it off briefly over the charcoal. That meant grilling time was short and I didn't have to cut the meat myself. It's served in just the right state for eating right away, so overall it felt really comfortable.
And above all, the pork neck had this deep, rich flavor coming through. The juiciness typical of aged meat was great, and the texture was nicely chewy when I bit into it. The juices were well preserved too — honestly, of everything I ate that day, the selected pork neck was the most memorable.
What does the marinated giant pork taste like?
The marinated giant pork skewer had a completely different vibe from the pork neck.

Unlike the pork ribs I'd had before, this tasted like something I'd never quite had — a subtle, not-overdone fruit sweetness with sauce deeply soaked into the meat. Most of all, the meat was incredibly soft. It had a texture almost like ham, so alternating between this and the thick, chewy pork neck kept things interesting without getting boring. Just like the description said — a deep, rich sauce aged with fruit — the sauce itself had a really good flavor.
Side dishes and the free crab doenjang stew
Side dishes matter more than you'd think at a barbecue restaurant.

The side dishes here were overall really tasty. The myeolchi-jeot (fermented anchovy sauce) for dipping the meat was good, and the green onion kimchi, corn salad, and lettuce salad were all delicious too. The seasoning across all the side dishes was very well balanced, so they were great to eat between bites of meat.
But honestly, my most unexpected favorite was the crab doenjang stew (soybean paste stew).

This is the doenjang stew that comes free when you order meat, and honestly, I usually think free stews at barbecue places are just a side afterthought. But this one was different. The broth itself had great depth of flavor, and there were plenty of ingredients in it too — onion, zucchini, tofu — to the point where calling it just a free service item felt like an understatement. Taking a spoonful of it between bites of meat made me crave a bowl of rice right away.
Is Tannae Paju good for a company dinner in Unjeong?
The atmosphere at Tannae Paju Main Branch is lively and comfortable. When I visited, there was a group having a company dinner at one table, and they do run group seating,

so it seemed like it would work well for anyone looking for a barbecue spot for a group dinner in Unjeong.
Both owners were kind, and overall I left feeling comfortable and happy with the meal. Tannae Paju Main Branch isn't just a place to grill meat over charcoal — it's a place I'll remember for the flavor of the aged, selected pork neck and the convenience of the pre-grilling system together. If you like aged pork neck or soy-sauce marinated grilled meat, it's worth trying.

I'd definitely go back. It looks great for a group dinner spot too.
