O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang in Hanam Misa — a Starfield-area go-to.
A rare date night out with my husband!
I wanted a hearty meal that would also feel restorative, and since I lean toward seafood over meat, I went for a hot bowl of seafood nurungjitang (scorched rice soup).

Where O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang Hanam Misa is, and is parking easy?
O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang Hanam Misa Main Branch is located at 616-1 Misa-daero, 1st floor, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do. There's plenty of comfortable parking, and reservations, takeout, and group visits are all possible.

It's right on the way to Starfield Hanam, so if you're headed there on a weekend, it could be a good idea to eat here first and then visit. Starfield tends to have long waits around mealtimes on weekends, so grabbing food beforehand isn't a bad plan.

The location is easy to find, and the restaurant itself turned out to be quite large. Best of all, there's generous parking space both in front and to the side, so parking was easy.

Honestly, easy parking really counts for a lot.
Can you get a table on a weekday evening without a reservation?
We visited O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang Hanam Misa Main Branch as a walk-in on a weekday evening with no reservation, and there was still plenty of seating. The interior is so spacious that even during a busy stretch, finding a seat was no problem.
Since the place itself is huge, it doesn't feel chaotic or loud even with lots of customers. Sometimes at big restaurants everything is so crowded and noisy that you just eat quickly and leave, but here the atmosphere was calm and comfortable overall, which made for a pleasant meal.

Probably because the interior is spacious and baby chairs are on hand, there were quite a few customers with babies. The spacing between seats is generous too, so it looked like a comfortable spot to bring a young child.

There was enough gap between our table and the next that it never felt cramped while eating. It would also be great for a family gathering. This coming Chuseok, I thought it'd be the perfect place to visit with family — already planning to talk Mom into rice soup for the holiday!
The kitchen is open so you can see right into it, and it was genuinely spotless.

The food was delicious, and knowing it came out of such a clean kitchen made it feel even more reassuring and tastier. 👍🏻

What the seafood abalone nurungjitang (20,000 won) tastes like
We ordered two dishes: seafood abalone rice soup for ₩20,000 and gulfweed abalone rice soup for ₩22,000.

After a short wait, they poured broth and scorched rice into a still-bubbling stone pot right at the table — fun to watch, and it looked great too.
The seafood abalone rice soup was generously loaded with all kinds of seafood and abalone.

It felt like the seafood just kept coming no matter how much I ate — a dish that especially won me over as someone who loves seafood.

The combination of the scorched rice and seafood worked so well together that I basically had my face buried in the bowl the whole time haha. The flavor wasn't overpowering and the seasoning was just right, so I could eat it all the way through without getting tired of it.

I expected nurungjitang to be heavy or intensely flavored, but the broth was mild and clean, which I appreciated. Since it's not overpowering, I think parents or older relatives would enjoy it too.
That made me think it would suit family gatherings or meals with parents really well.

What the maesaengi abalone nurungjitang (22,000 won) tastes like
The gulfweed abalone rice soup was also really good.

It was packed with gulfweed (maesaengi), giving the broth a rich, savory quality, and with abalone and seafood mixed in too, the ocean flavor really came through.

Once again — full of seafood, full of scorched rice. Both dishes are basically warm, filling comfort food, perfect for these days when you want something restorative.

Side dishes from the self-serve bar
The side dishes were clean and tasty one by one. Being able to help yourself to as much as you want from the self-serve bar was convenient and nice.

Everything from the food to the restaurant itself felt clean and put-together — a satisfying meal overall.

Takeout: 1,000 won off per item
O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang gives a ₩1,000 discount per item when you order to take out. We enjoyed the meal so much at the restaurant that we packed an extra portion to take home. That takeout portion was paid for out of my own pocket!
Final verdict on O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang Hanam Misa
A solid Chinese restaurant in Hanam! It had been a while since my husband and I went out together for a proper meal, and it exceeded expectations — the space was bigger and the food cleaner than I anticipated.

If you're a fan of nurungjitang loaded with seafood, this is worth a visit. The spacious dining room and decent gap between seats make it a good fit for family visits or group gatherings, and with baby chairs on hand, it seemed like a comfortable spot for parents with young kids too.
Best of all, it's close to Starfield Hanam and has plenty of parking, making it an easy place to visit for all kinds of occasions. If you're planning a family meal out for the upcoming Chuseok holiday, I'd recommend O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang!
