Hwamyeong-dong BBQ in Busan packed at 7pm: 700g mid platter, Go Ok-hui

It's been a while since I brought a Hwamyeong-dong restaurant find! Whenever I think about what to eat, it's always meat, haha... Meat is always better in bigger quantities and tastes great, but grilling it is always such a hassle, so lately I try to find BBQ places that come already grilled...!

Did you know there's a place in Hwamyeong-dong where the meat isn't grilled at your table but arrives already fully grilled, so all you have to do is eat!? It's Go Ok-hui, the pre-grilled BBQ restaurant in Hwamyeong-dong!

Where is Go Ok-hui Hwamyeong Main Branch, and what is it like at 7pm?

Go Ok-hui in Hwamyeong-dong is located right behind Rose Park, in the building right next to Megabox Hwamyeong!

The sign has a slightly yellow glow, so it really stands out in the evening! I visited around 7pm and the inside was already full, so I waited outside for a bit! There was a menu board right in front, so I took a look — shall we check out the menu of Go Ok-hui, the pre-grilled Hwamyeong-dong BBQ spot?!

The menu info is as shown above! We ordered the mid platter (700g) with steamed egg, doenjang stew, and rice! The inside wasn't very spacious, but there were several 4-person tables ready!

Side dishes and table setup at Go Ok-hui

For side dishes, they served white kimchi, wild garlic leaves, wasabi, doenjang, shiitake wasabi, garlic, chili peppers, lettuce wraps, and scallion shreds! Each table also had salt, soybean powder, curry powder, and mayonnaise ready! The side dishes were plated cleanly and neatly, and the lettuce wraps were fresh with a lively fragrance!

Each table also had a note on how to eat it deliciously! It's worth checking out and adjusting to your taste!

Before the pork arrives: appetizers and steamed egg

Since the meat comes already grilled, while you wait you can snack on potato, bracken fern, green onion, rice cake, and mushroom appetizers!

The fluffy steamed egg was also really moist and delicious! Soft enough that kids would love it!

Four cuts: gochujang-marinated pork, plain pork belly, galbi-marinated pork and pork skin

And then the star of the show, the meat, came out already grilled! It was browned so nicely it looked really delicious! Honestly, meat someone else grills for you can't taste bad!

In order: gochujang-marinated pork, plain pork belly, galbi-marinated pork, and pork skin! Doesn't it look amazing just from the photos!?

The plain pork belly is delicious on its own, great dipped in salt, and pairs really well with wasabi too! As for the gochujang-marinated pork, wrapping it in a lettuce leaf with mayonnaise, scallion shreds, and various side dishes made it even more delicious!

And you can't have meat without carbs! The bowl of rice was so huge it surprised me! The doenjang stew had a gochujang touch to it, a bit spicy but clean and mild in flavor! It also had lots of ingredients like tofu and zucchini!

And when you finish eating and head out, there's yogurt and candy for dessert, so try one of each!

So that was my visit to Go Ok-hui, the Hwamyeong-dong BBQ restaurant where the meat comes fully grilled! It's really convenient since it's already grilled, and beyond the taste, the staff were so friendly that it was a genuinely pleasant, delicious meal!
