In short
Barabon Glasses Ilgwang New City Branch is an optician on Haebit 6-ro in Ilgwang-eup, Gijang, Busan, carrying reading glasses, kids' glasses and Lenzme contact lenses. A visit to order reading glasses for mom started with a consultation about how they would be used and an eye exam, and the blue-light-blocking pair was finished in 10 to 15 minutes. I visited this popular Busan eyewear shop, Barabon Glasses Ilgwang New City Branch, to get my mom reading glasses. She already has a pair at home, but apparently you're supposed to have several — one for the living room, one for the bedroom, one to carry around 😎 (I don't even wear glasses so I wasn't sure, but yeah, my mom and dad each have several pairs.)

Where do you park at Barabon Glasses in Ilgwang?

Inside the shop: frames, kids' glasses and contact lenses
A sleek eyewear shop with a white-gold design, and honestly, so many lenses and glasses 👀. Lots of pretty frames, and Lenzme lenses too. The shop was clean and spacious, so my parents were sold right away 👍🏻

They also have the famous Tomato glasses for kids with astigmatism. Kids' eyewear specialty service is available too.
Ordering mom's reading glasses: consultation and eye exam
My mom came to buy reading glasses, and the owner greeted her so kindly! Here's how it went.
- First, checking what the glasses would be used for
- Choosing the frame style she wanted
- A proper, accurate eye exam
My mom had a very specific style in mind, and the staff member nailed exactly what she wanted — total pro. The consultation was so friendly and everything was explained really well 👍🏻👍🏻

While mom did her eye exam, I wandered around trying on glasses. The staff were sooo kind and thoughtful, it was great. They took real care of mom while making her reading glasses, and both my parents said they loved it here and want to come back next time they need new glasses 💭💭

Are frame prices at Barabon Glasses fixed?
Frames at Barabon Glasses Ilgwang New City Branch range from ₩30,000 to ₩200,000, with fixed pricing clearly labeled. Lenses also show both regular and discounted prices.
Why do I turn into an owl the moment I put on glasses? Haha. They even had frame styles worn by celebrities, so I tried on a bunch just for fun. Since the prices are all fixed and labeled, I didn't have to feel awkward checking prices as I browsed 💭 Everything was well organized by brand and style, making it easy to look around.

Waiting area and blue-light-blocking lenses
There's a comfortable coffee spot and waiting seats, so anyone who comes along has somewhere nice to sit. After mom's eye exam, the staff said that since people wearing reading glasses tend to look at their phones or monitors a lot, it's a good idea to add blue-light blocking as a default — so we added that to the prescription 〰️
Choosing Lenzme contact lenses in person
Apparently they've recently started selling Lenzme lenses in-store. I even spotted the Lenzme lens famous for being Go Youn-jung's line 👀. It's hard to find a Lenzme offline store, but at Barabon Glasses Ilgwang New City Branch you can actually see and choose the lenses in person, plus there's a system to search for the lens you want on a monitor. They were even running a 1+1 event, so you can get a good deal.

There's also a system to virtually try lenses on your own eyes. This one worked through an app on my phone.

Soon mom's reading glasses were ready, and they had her try them on right away, holding up a paper printed with text to check if she could read it clearly haha. So thoughtful and kind!!!

Reading glasses ready in 10-15 minutes
And here they are — mom's finished reading glasses! It only took about 10 to 15 minutes. At other places, my parents said it took 30 minutes to an hour, so they were thrilled how fast it was here 〰️ Mom tried them on and said they were a perfect fit, totally satisfied haha.
Dad also asked about multifocal reading glasses out of curiosity. He'd looked into it elsewhere and a lot of places didn't offer them, but Barabon Glasses Ilgwang New City Branch does! Dad's eyes lit right up haha, and he says he'll come back to get a pair next time 👀👀
While waiting, I also asked them to adjust the fit on my Gucci sunglasses, and they said no problem and fixed them up in no time,, ♥

What the receipt review event gives you
- 60ml lens solution
- Wetting solution
- Disposable lens samples

Such a satisfying bit of filial-duty time getting mom's reading glasses done 😎 I'll be back next time for dad's reading glasses.
