Wagyu steak mushroom pasta at Purity Cafe, a Gijang brunch café
In short
Purity Cafe is a large two-floor brunch café on Chaseong-ro in Gijang-eup, Gijang, Busan. The wagyu steak mushroom pasta and the jambon-beurre sandwich both delivered — thick noodles in a rich cream sauce, and salty jambon with butter. I hadn't been out to Gijang in a while, and while looking for a big café with brunch, I ended up at Purity :)
Purity Cafe's menu ranges from bakery items to pasta, risotto, pizza, salad, and sandwiches, so it was great for getting a meal and a coffee break in one place. And the space itself felt warm and cozy, perfect for spending a relaxed afternoon.
It's located in Gijang's downtown area, so it had a different vibe from the oceanview cafés right on the water — still very much a Gijang brunch café, just a different flavor.
Inside Purity Cafe: wood-tone interior across two floors and group seating

The moment I walked in, the cozy, warm wood-tone interior stood out. Purity Cafe spans two floors, so it's a good-sized place with a fairly generous amount of seating.

The square window frames gave off a nice mood, and the floor-to-ceiling glass made the space feel open.

The 2nd floor in particular has group seating for several people at once, which looked great for meeting up with friends or eating with family.
There are also family-friendly touches like group seating and baby chairs — and sure enough, quite a few guests had come with babies when I visited 👀
Purity Cafe menu: bakery, pasta and sandwiches

Another great thing about Purity Cafe is how varied the menu is~! There's plenty of bakery — salt bread, mont blanc, and more — plus brunch dishes like pasta and sandwiches.
We ordered the wagyu steak mushroom pasta and the jambon-beurre sandwich :)
How is the wagyu steak mushroom pasta at Purity Cafe?

The wagyu steak mushroom pasta looked appetizing right from the plating — the pasta was piled high with wagyu steak, so a single plate felt pretty filling on its own.
The noodles weren't thin — they had a nice thick, chewy texture — and the dish was loaded with mushrooms, garlic, onion, and more 🫶🏻 The mushroom flavor came through subtly in the sauce, giving it a savory, deep taste, and the creamy, rich sauce went really well with the noodles.

The steak was cut into bite-sized pieces, which I liked — eaten together with the pasta, the clean flavor of the meat, the mushroom aroma, and the savoriness of the sauce all came together beautifully.
Officially a Gijang pasta spot worth recommending 👍🏻
Jambon-beurre sandwich and a cup of coffee

The jambon-beurre sandwich is a simple combo — salty jambon, butter, and arugula between crisply toasted bread — and one bite in, I was honestly moved ✨🥹
Soft, salty jambon, savory and smooth butter, fragrant arugula, and a whole-grain mustard sauce — there's no way this combination could taste bad!!
Pairing it with a saucy dish like the pasta worked really well, and since jambon-beurre itself is a relatively clean, simple flavor, it was perfect as a brunch item. Add a cup of coffee, and you've got a genuinely happy brunch spread 🤍
Is Purity Cafe good for gatherings and family outings?
As a Gijang brunch café, Purity has spacious 1st and 2nd floors plus group seating, so it looked like a great spot not just for dates but for all kinds of get-togethers.
When you're looking for a café to visit with a baby, even pretty places sometimes have cramped seating or a limited food menu — but here, the brunch menu is varied and the space is roomy, making it a solid choice for a family outing.
The food was delicious, the space was pretty, and I felt good the whole time I was there — next time I'd like to try other brunch items too. If you're looking for a Gijang brunch café, I'd recommend taking your time over a coffee at the well-styled Purity Cafe 🙌🏻
