Poke for two in Seocho, Seoul: soy-sauce grilled steak at Salering

Today I'm bringing you a review of Salering Gyodae Direct Store, a poke restaurant that recently opened near Gyodae Station 🥗 It opened fairly recently and I'd wanted to check it out for a while — finally made it happen!! Let's get into the review 💨

Where is Salering Gyodae Direct Store? Location, parking and hours

• Hours: Weekdays 08:15–21:00 / Weekends 10:30–20:00
• Parking: 2 spots in front of the store, 1 hour possible with dine-in
• Delivery and takeout available
• Corkage allowed
• Walk: about 200m from Gyodae Station Exit 1

Salering is located a 2–3 minute walk from Gyodae Station. 🅿️ There's parking in front too — 2 spots, up to 1 hour, just so you know!

Inside Salering Gyodae Direct Store: atmosphere and seating

The inside of Salering Gyodae Direct Store had a clean, fresh vibe with white and green tones and plant decor 🌿 There were 2–4 person tables as well as window bar seating, so it works well whether you're eating alone or grabbing a light meal with a friend!

Salering Gyodae Direct Store menu and prices

Salering's menu was displayed on an electronic board like this. These days a lot of places charge 15,000 won even for a basic poke, but at Salering the basic option already came loaded with a variety of toppings for around 12–13,000 won ☺️

The drink lineup was really varied too — sodas, carbonated drinks, almond breeze, all the way to beer. You order through the kiosk‼️

After waiting 5–10 minutes, the food came out right away!

Grilled steak bibim poke 13,900 (rice, soy sauce dressing) — rice, vegetables, egg, crab meat, and even salad, it was really packed with ingredients! The steak and soy sauce dressing went so well together haha. Tasted like a diet-friendly wagyu hot pot rice! The meat portion wasn't huge, so if you think you'll need more, I'd recommend ordering the large size ☺️

Scallop & shrimp bibim poke, 12,900 won (wasabi mayo dressing)

Scallop & shrimp bibim poke 12,900 (rice, wasabi mayo dressing) — this is what my friend ordered 🥜🍑 Everything else was the same! The rice had something like furikake sprinkled on it, giving it great savory flavor, and it went really well with the wasabi mayo dressing — my friend cleaned the whole bowl 😋😋 (haha, so proud ^=^) I loved that grilled mushrooms were tucked into the poke too 🤤

The wasabi mayo was surprisingly dark in color!! But it tasted savory with a subtle wasabi kick woven through — really good. Highly recommend this sauce.👍🏻

Is Salering worth it for poke near Gyodae Station?

I'd been wanting to visit since I heard this place opened fairly recently, and I finally made it!! It felt like discovering a poke place with genuinely fresh, generous ingredients after a long time 😆 If they keep up this quality, it could become the best poke spot near Gyodae Station 😎 Highly recommend if you want a salad meal, takeout, or delivery around Gyodae Station 👍🏻 (there's parking, and kiosk ordering makes eating solo easy too!)
