I was looking for a café near Yangjae Citizen's Forest with both good coffee and a solid bakery lineup, and that's how I ended up at Mini Male Yangjae Main Branch ☕️ It's actually Mini Male's very first store, the one where all their other branches started from, haha.
They say the space was built around the 'happiness of a single cup of coffee' they felt while traveling through cafés in Seoul, Tokyo, and Europe. Maybe because they stripped away anything unnecessary to focus on good coffee, good bakery, and a comfortable space, the whole store felt clean and minimal, just like the name suggests.

It's an easy walk from Yangjae Citizen's Forest Station. The floor-to-ceiling glass windows let you see straight into the interior from outside, and the overall black-and-white exterior made it easy to spot from a distance!
It's also fairly close to Yangjae AT Center and Yangjae Flower Market, so it's a good spot to swing by if you have errands nearby. In spring, it'd be nice to admire the flowers along Yangjaecheon Stream or at Yangjae Citizen's Forest and then stop in for coffee 🌸
Atmosphere and seating
Mini Male Yangjae Main Branch isn't a flashy, heavily decorated café — it's clean with no fuss! They have everything from 2-person tables to seats for larger groups, so it looked good whether you're grabbing coffee solo or coming with friends. With a lot of offices nearby, it also seemed like a solid spot for a quick lunchtime or afternoon coffee break 👍
Mini Male beans: Balance, Dunkel, Decaf
On one side, they had Mini Male's beans and drip bags on display. They say Mini Male uses specialty green beans scoring 80+ on the cupping scale, and the beans are researched and profiled directly at their own roastery in Seocho-dong.
Balance has the acidity and clean sweetness typical of Ethiopian beans, Dunkel has a heavier body with dark chocolate notes, and Decaf is designed to keep the flavor while cutting back on the caffeine.
How wide is the bakery lineup, really?
I'd assumed this was just a coffee specialty shop, but the bakery selection turned out to be surprisingly varied! Cookies, babka, egg tart, financiers — all kinds of desserts that go well with coffee were lined up in the case. They say Mini Male's handmade New York cookies are made in-house with their own recipe at the Gaepo-dong bakery lab, and they use AOP butter in the croissants, so they clearly put a lot of thought into their bakery ingredients.
What I ordered: Helsinki latte and three desserts
The coffee menu is also fairly extensive! On top of the basics like espresso, Americano, and latte, there's Mini Male's signature Helsinki latte. There are also teas and non-coffee drinks, so anyone visiting with someone who can't drink coffee shouldn't have trouble finding something to order!

The Helsinki latte I'd been most curious about. Apparently it's a signature drink recreating a life-changing latte they had while traveling in Helsinki, Finland, using Mini Male's own recipe! It came in a tall glass with milk and coffee layered separately, and it looked really pretty, haha.
The bread all looked so tempting too, right??
How does the Helsinki latte taste?
Taking my first sip, my impression was: really smooth! Instead of the espresso's bitterness hitting hard, the rich, nutty flavor of the milk came through first, with the coffee aroma following naturally behind it. The sweetness was very subtle — closer to a mellow, nutty, smooth latte overall.
I originally came in curious about the Helsinki latte, but Mini Male Yangjae Main Branch won me over with a bakery lineup that was way more varied than I expected. Adding the sweet original babka, egg tart, and pecan financier one by one turned what was supposed to be a quick coffee stop into a proper dessert time :)
If you're looking for a Yangjae café to enjoy coffee and bakery together near Yangjae Citizen's Forest, the AT Center, or Yangjae Flower Market, this one's worth a stop. Having tasted the Helsinki latte and bakery items at the birthplace of Mini Male, I'd love to try their other coffees and cookie varieties next time ☕️🤎
