Self-serve bar: nurungji rice water and bibimbap toppings

There's a self-serve station for savory rice water (sungnyung). My partner and I slurped it right down. Oh, and there are also self-serve bibimbap toppings — just take as much as you'll actually eat. 😌☘️

True to its reputation as a braised pollock spot near Bongcheon Station, the menu was divided into categories: regular, siraegi (dried radish greens) pollock, and abalone pollock. Baby octopus is also a signature dish here, with dishes like ogumi (duck + baby octopus) griddle stir-fry and bujjukkumi (chives + baby octopus) griddle stir-fry. Side dishes and the free steamed egg

The side dishes were so generous!! The seaweed soup even had meat in it..🤤👍 My partner really enjoyed the seasoned hijiki seaweed and the dried laver. I went crazy for the crunchy peppers, bean sprouts, and seaweed soup.. it was just so good...‼️

Free steamed egg served as a side

They even gave us free steamed egg. Amazing!!!!!

Cockle bibimbap (seasoned rice with cockles), 11,000 won

The cockle bibimbap arrived first. It's served with the cockles piled on top of the rice. 😌 The cockles were just the right size — great to bite into. They give you sesame oil too, so drizzle it generously in two big circles. ☘️ There's a video clip of me mixing it thoroughly at the very top of this post.

Small siraegi braised pollock, 31,000 won

Lots of other customers came in besides us. And every single one of them ordered the siraegi braised pollock. It really does seem to be the most popular dish at Sangdo Neulbori Bongcheon Station Branch. ☘️

Small siraegi braised pollock with two fish

Potatoes, radish, siraegi, and pollock, all in a spicy-sweet sauce — the pollock was full of tender flesh. Absolute love.

Sangdo Neulbori Bongcheon Station Branch, a braised pollock favorite near Bongcheon Station! Personally, I recommend you definitely add extra siraegi.

Dried laver wrap with hijiki and pollock

My partner wrapped hijiki, pollock, and siraegi together in dried laver and ate it that way. He said it was so delicious and that you have to eat it together to really enjoy it. 🤣

Honestly, I'd had a rough day at work and was venting about it, and my partner just sat there listening. In the middle of all that, he was picking out the bones for me, wrapping bites for me, and just taking care of me the whole time. Thank you, my love..❤️

Anyway, we cleaned our plates completely once again.

Is Sangdo Neulbori near Bongcheon Station worth a second visit?

Tender, generous portions of spicy-sweet braised pollock, radish and potatoes cooked just right with some bite left, big, savory cockles in the bibimbap, and a kind owner and staff on top of it all 😌👍‼️ Sangdo Neulbori Bongcheon Station Branch has clearly won over the taste buds of couples in their 30s near Bongcheon Station. I'll definitely come back with my partner after work again. Thanks for the amazing meal — wishing you continued success! ❤️
