In short
Puru Papa Hangang MAPOINT Branch is a takeout café on Mapo-naru-gil in Mapo, Seoul, near the Han River, selling coffee and sushi side by side. On a weekend visit with a friend, an order of three 1-liter Americanos plus a white latte, caramel macchiato, peach iced tea and green grape ade came to ₩30,000, and the 1-liter Americano at ₩4,000 was the standout for the sheer volume. I've been prepping for a move lately, so there's just endless stuff to sort out at home. Ugh. This past weekend I was like, "Okay, I really need a delicious drink today!"

So I went out with a friend for a bit of fresh air, and that's how we ended up at Puru Papa Hangang MAPOINT Branch.

I thought it was just a café, but they also sell sushi here. At first I thought "do sushi and coffee even go together?" but once we actually packed both up and ate them together, honestly the combo wasn't bad at all haha.

So today I wanted to introduce this place to anyone looking for Mangwon-dong café recommendations who wants to handle coffee and a quick meal all at once.
Sushi and coffee in one stop: takeout at Puru Papa MAPOINT Branch
Puru Papa MAPOINT Branch sells not just coffee and drinks but sushi too, so it was great being able to pack everything up in one stop. When you're heading to Mangwon or the Han River, you often end up buying food at one place, coffee at another café, and dessert somewhere else entirely.
Especially for a Han River outing, grabbing some sushi plus a coffee or ade to carry along turns out to be a surprisingly good combo. After the salty, clean flavor of the sushi, a sip of cold Americano really clears your palate!
So for anyone searching for Mangwon Hangang Park dessert spots who was only thinking cake or bread, this might be a nice alternative option.
Weekend parking at Puru Papa: expect a wait to get in
This is a tip only someone who's actually been there can give you! The day we went was a weekend, and there was a line of cars waiting to get into the Puru Papa MAPOINT Branch parking lot. Cars were queued up, and at first we just waited too.
Then I hopped out and said "I'll just go order first!" and ran into the store lol. I ordered our drinks and menu items, got them to go, came back out... and by sheer perfect timing, my friend's car was just about to pull into the parking lot entrance!
So in the end we didn't even park — just turned the car right back around lol. Turns out we actually saved time versus parking and coming back out, so packing everything up ended up way more convenient.
📌 If you're just there for takeout on a weekend, having a passenger hop out first to order while the parking line is long is a solid move.

Every drink we ordered at Puru Papa, and what it cost
Looking at the receipt, there was actually a pretty wide variety of drinks on it.

White latte, ₩5,000
If you like smooth, sweet coffee, this is a safe pick. The bitterness of the coffee doesn't push forward too much, and the nutty flavor of the milk comes through first, so it's easy to drink like a dessert.

Caramel macchiato, ₩4,500
The first sip hits you with sweet caramel aroma, and the espresso's bitterness backs it up a bit at the end. Rather than a purely sweet caramel drink, you can actually taste the coffee too, so it was great for when you need a little sugar boost.

Peach iced tea, ₩4,000
If someone with you doesn't drink coffee, the peach iced tea is a good option. It has a sweet, familiar peach aroma that pairs nicely with a light drink after sushi. It'd be an easy pick if you're going with kids or someone who's not into coffee.
Green grape ade, ₩4,500
Green grape ade has a totally different charm from coffee! You get a burst of sweet green grape flavor right away, and the carbonation makes it finish crisp and refreshing. If you're picking a drink for the Han River, personally I think ades work really well too.
Especially for anyone looking for Mangwon Hangang Park dessert spots, it's worth not just sticking to coffee and packing an ade or iced tea along with it.

The biggest surprise: a 1-liter Americano for ₩4,000
The menu item that caught my eye most at Puru Papa MAPOINT Branch was the 1-liter Americano for ₩4,000. These days a regular-size Americano often costs ₩4,000-5,000 at plenty of places. But a full liter...! Wow, this is genuinely way bigger than you'd expect lol.
I thought it might just be cheap coffee with a lot of volume, but once I actually drank it, the coffee flavor was solid too. It was also fun that you can pick your bean preference.
- Mountain (San) - nutty flavor
- Sea (Bada) - refreshing flavor
- Sunset (Noeul) - smooth flavor
This is what I ordered based on that choice.
Is Puru Papa's 1L Americano really good value?
What satisfied me most this time was, again, the ₩4,000 1-liter Americano. It's not the kind of amount you finish quickly and it's gone — I sipped it in the car, then had plenty left to enjoy leisurely once we got home, so the value for the price was really high.

Especially with prices going up everywhere these days, ordering a few drinks at a café can easily run you ₩20,000-30,000. This time too, we ordered several drinks and the total on the receipt came to ₩30,000.

- White Latte ₩5,000
- Caramel Macchiato ₩4,500
- Peach Iced Tea ₩4,000
- Three 1L Americanos at ₩4,000 each
- Green Grape Ade ₩4,500
Considering the volume, the overall price didn't feel like much of a burden at all.

So among the Mangwon-dong café options, if you're ordering drinks for a group or looking for a takeout spot before heading to the Han River, this one's worth checking out for the value alone.

Why Puru Papa is an easy takeout stop before the Han River
On nice-weather days, a lot of people head toward the Han River along Mapo-naru-gil, where Puru Papa MAPOINT Branch sits. So rather than lingering in the store like I did, packing up drinks or sushi to go and moving on works out well too.

There are probably a lot of people wandering around looking for ice cream or a cold drink near the Han River MAPOINT area, and it's a plus to have a wide range of menu choices in one place.

Grab some sushi and a drink before a Han River walk, and there's no need to stop by a bunch of separate places.

On a nice weekend especially, a lot of people search for Han River MAPOINT ice cream spots looking for dessert or something cold, and here you can pick that up along with coffee or ade. If your goal is purely takeout like ours was, you can also use your time much more efficiently than sitting in the store.
A quick breather on a busy weekend in Mapo
Honestly, this wasn't some big outing far away. I've just been buried in sorting out my house for the move lately. There's a mountain of things to do, and staying home all day just makes you feel stuffy and restless.
So I hopped in the car for a bit, grabbed a tasty coffee, got some fresh air, and came back — and that short bit of time turned out to be surprisingly nice.

Maybe because I haven't had café drinks much lately, but the iced coffee tasted amazing after a while, haha.

You don't need to go somewhere grand — just packing a good drink to go and driving a loop around the Han River area was enough to lift my mood. Guess that's the small happiness of a weekend.

Puru Papa Hangang MAPOINT Branch at a glance

A lot of people are looking for Mangwon-dong café spots these days, and as the weather warms up, plenty are also searching for Mangwon Hangang Park dessert spots. If you want to grab sushi on your way to the Han River, or pick up ice cream, coffee, and a cold drink all at once near Han River MAPOINT, keep Puru Papa MAPOINT Branch in mind.
I think I'll be going back mostly for the 1L Americano. Once my move settles down a bit, next time I want to pack sushi and drinks and eat slowly sitting by the Han River, haha.

If it were you, would you pair your sushi with iced Americano or green grape ade? 😆
