Uijeongbu pork bone soup restaurant with parking: Yetnal Gyeongseong
In short
Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Nokyang Branch is a newly opened gukbap (rice-and-soup) and haejangguk restaurant on Dongil-ro in Nokyang-dong, Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi. Three of us — my mother, a friend and me — came after the lunch rush for ppyeo-haejangguk (pork bone soup) and dwaeji-gukbap (pork rice soup), and the restaurant sent out a free plate of sundae (Korean blood sausage) to mark its opening. Generous meat and parking right in front of Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk make it an easy stop on a day out by car with parents.

It was a day when my mom, a friend, and I ended up having a late lunch together. The lunch hour had long passed and we were trying to figure out what to eat, when we thought a bowl of hot soup with rice sounded good, so we headed to the newly opened Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Nokyang Branch in Nokyang-dong. I'd been curious about it since it just opened and I'd walked past a few times — this time we filled up on bone haejangguk (pork bone hangover soup) and pork gukbap (rice soup).

Personally, parking is something I care about almost as much as the food when picking a restaurant. On days I'm out with my mom, it's a real hassle if the parking lot is far from the restaurant or the spaces are cramped. Here, we could park right in front, which made it easy to visit by car.

Inside a freshly opened Uijeongbu soup restaurant
Walking in, the first thing I noticed was how clean and tidy everything felt, as you'd expect from a place that just opened. Gukbap and haejangguk are the kind of thing you might grab alone for a quick meal, but when you're eating with parents or friends like we were that day, you can't help but notice the atmosphere too. It was tidy and comfortable, so the three of us could sit and enjoy our late lunch without any stress. It also helped that we came after the lunch rush, so we could eat at a relaxed pace.
The dishes we picked that day were bone haejangguk and pork gukbap. Each of us ordered what we felt like and shared, and even the earthenware pots looked pretty generous from the start. The soup arrived hot and bubbling, which only made us hungrier after waiting so long for lunch. Gukbap really does taste best when it's piping hot.

Ppyeo-haejangguk: picking the pork off the bone
The bone haejangguk caught my eye first. There was a decent amount of meat still on the bones, so picking it off piece by piece was actually fun, and there was more to eat than I expected. It's disappointing when you order bone haejangguk and there's barely any meat, but this time, picking off the meat and eating it with rice and broth felt quite filling. The meat was especially tasty, so I kept reaching for more. Even though I was really hungry from the late hour, the portion was generous enough that I never felt like I was running short.

Dwaeji-gukbap loaded with pork and toppings
The pork gukbap also had a noticeable amount of meat in it. I tend to prefer gukbap with generous toppings over ones that are mostly broth, so this one suited me well.

Piling meat onto a spoonful of rice and taking sips of broth in between made for a filling meal. Chatting with my mom and my friend as we ate, it felt like a proper spread even though it was technically a late lunch.

Free sundae to mark the opening
Since it was a new opening, they gave us sundae (Korean blood sausage) as a complimentary opening dish. The hot sundae came out in a more generous portion than I expected, which was nice to try before the main meal. Paired with the bone haejangguk and pork gukbap, the whole spread felt even more filling.
What we liked about Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk
- Generous meat portions — how much meat or toppings you get really affects satisfaction with gukbap or haejangguk, and this was on the generous side.
- The meat was tasty — not just plentiful, but genuinely good to eat.
- Great served hot — a warm bowl of soup hit the spot for a late lunch.
- Easy parking — especially convenient when traveling by car with parents.
- Clean restaurant — the whole place felt tidy, as you'd expect from a new opening.
- Good for groups with different preferences — you can each pick gukbap or haejangguk to suit your taste.
- Not too heavy even for a late lunch — the kind of meal you'd crave when you need something warm.
- Filling portions — rice, meat, and broth together made for a satisfying meal.

What stuck with me most from that meal was the impression that they really give you plenty of meat. When I'm eating with my mom, I tend to look for something familiar and hearty rather than anything too spicy or intense, and this was a good pick for a day like that.
Good to know before you go
- First, since it's a newly opened restaurant, hours and any promotions may change, so check before you visit.
- Second, lunch hours can get busy, so if you want a relaxed meal, consider avoiding peak times.
- Third, bone haejangguk involves picking meat off the bone, so it suits a more leisurely meal rather than a quick one.
- Fourth, the gukbap is served very hot, so if you're with parents or kids, it's a good idea to let it cool slightly at first.
- Fifth, parking availability can vary depending on when you visit, so keep that in mind during busy hours.
