Haebangchon is a neighborhood you absolutely have to visit when the weather's nice! So many alleys and hills that it's only really enjoyable in good weather — a genuinely lovely-vibe spot. Went again this time to soak up the fall weather. It's perfect terrace-dining season right now, so here's my review of TPM hbc (더피제리아마켓 해방촌), a Haebangchon pizza favorite :) 200% would go back!!!

Where TPM hbc is and when it opens

TPM hbc (더피제리아마켓 해방촌) is at 30 Sinheung-ro, 1st floor, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, right at the entrance of Haebangchon, about a 10-minute walk from Noksapyeong Station, so it's fairly easy to reach. Hours are Tue–Fri 17:00–22:00 (last order 21:00) and Sat–Sun 12:00–22:00 (break 15:00–16:30, last order 21:00), closed Mondays, and there's no parking.

A converted house, the terrace and the room inside

TPM hbc looks like a converted house, so the vibe is good from the outside already! There are tables on the outdoor terrace too, perfect for enjoying terrace dining in weather like this 🩷

The inside has even more of a great vibe!! I visited around 6pm on a weekday — when I walked in there was still room at the tables, but by the time we were eating it had filled up almost completely, haha, clearly a popular spot.

The lighting overall was a bit dim, which made the atmosphere even better. It's a popular date-night spot too — totally makes sense.

What we ordered from the TPM hbc seasonal menu and what it cost

You order via QR code! Everything looked delicious so it was a tough call, but since this place is known for seasonal pizzas made with in-season ingredients, we decided to try the seasonal menu.

  • Fall mushroom and smoked mozzarella pizza ₩28,000
  • Charcoal-grilled prawns with harissa butter ₩15,000
  • Chestnut ice cream and fig ₩7,000
  • San Pellegrino sparkling water ₩5,000
  • Glass of wine ₩14,000

And that was our order complete :)!!💛

A table with a glass of wine and sparkling water

Glass of wine: Camomi Napa Valley Chardonnay, 14,000 won

Camomi Napa Valley Chardonnay. A fruity white wine with balanced acidity that paired really well with the food. I'm not a fan of dry wines but this wasn't overly dry, softer than I expected.

My friend had the sparkling water!

Free mustard leaf pickles and two Tabasco sauces

They give you mustard leaf pickles and two sauces, and the pickles were seriously, insanely good — just god-tier, god,,,, The house-made pickles come drizzled with sesame oil on top, and as that nutty sesame aroma hits along with the crisp mustard leaf, it's incredibly tasty! I feel like it'd be amazing mixed into rice too, but it was surprisingly great with pizza as well, haha.

Red Tabasco and green Tabasco. The green Tabasco has that cheongyang chili pepper heat! A bit spicier than the red, and both sauces were really tasty.

Fall mushroom and smoked mozzarella pizza, 28,000 won

✨Pizza has arrived✨ The smell alone as it landed was insane. The king oyster mushrooms on top were hand-torn to preserve their texture and grain, and there was shiitake on there too. The umami from the mushroom flavor and smoky aroma was so good — such a great fall seasonal pizza!

Took the first bite and it was just insanely good... Do you like mushrooms? Then this is mandatory. Already want to go back for more. Ate the first slice plain, and it was so good I squeezed lime over the next one! Personally I liked it even better with lime. There's a reason they serve it with the pizza. The lime is the real kicker! That bit of acidity made the flavor even richer.

Red Tabasco and green Tabasco! Both good, and the slight heat they added paired really well with the rich, deep flavor of the mushroom pizza. My friend's top pick was the green Tabasco~!

And the pizza crust ends — no floury taste at all, just crisp and chewy, pure wood-fired bread. You can eat all the way to the crust without leaving anything behind~! Loaded with mushrooms too! Huge recommend.

Charcoal-grilled prawns with harissa butter, 15,000 won

In-season prawns smoked over charcoal, with house-made harissa butter. Being Anmyeondo daeha (large shrimp), they were huge!! Spicy with a lovely herb aroma, delicious even plain, but as expected, squeezing lime on top makes it even better.

Nice, big chunks of shrimp meat.

I eat the shrimp shell, tail, and head, all of it — the head especially was seriously delicious. Cooked through nicely so the outside was crispy, just really, really good,, want more already.

Dessert: chestnut ice cream with fig, 7,000 won

Right around when we finished the pizza and shrimp, they thoughtfully brought out dessert!! Chestnut ice cream and fig.

Underneath there was sweet chestnut ice cream, topped with thin frozen slices of fig, finished with a green powder made from ground fig leaves.

The frozen fig had a sorbet-like texture, crunchy to bite into, and it paired well with the chestnut ice cream. I love sweets a lot, and to my taste this dessert was barely sweet at all, but the subtle sweetness of the chestnut ice cream and the texture of the fig worked so well together that I really enjoyed it. First time trying a chestnut-and-fig combo and it was surprisingly great,,,💛

Didn't leave behind a single piece of shrimp shell, scraped it all clean. Huge recommend.

How Haebangchon feels after dark, and the verdict on TPM hbc

Once the sun went down and it got dark, they lit candles at every table, and the atmosphere got even better once it was dim :)! Truly a great-vibe pizza spot.

By the time we finished and were heading out, the terrace seats had opened up — next time I want to sit out there and enjoy the terrace dining, haha. A great-vibe pizza restaurant in Haebangchon, perfect for pizza and beer or wine: TPM hbc. This was a review including a self-funded visit, and I'd definitely go back!
