Why go back to Yukjjip near Eungam Station, this time with mom

Today I'm bringing you a revisit review of Yukjjip (육쯥), a great Korean BBQ spot near Eungam Station where the staff grill for you. I came here before with my dad, bragged about how good it was to my mom, and she said she wanted to try it too — so this time I went with mom. So cute girl~~

It's located right at the start of the Bulgwangcheon stream near Eungam Station, so it's great whether you eat first and walk after, or walk first and eat after — a really nice course for a date with your parents. Haha.

Yukjjip, this Eungam Station favorite, uses pork straight from Jirisan, so it can't not be good. The meat quality was excellent too. When I first visited there was only the Bulgwang branch, but this time I noticed they'd expanded to two more locations. Yep, this is definitely a real local favorite. Hehe.

Soju for 1,000 won: drinks cheaper than a convenience store
They're currently running a promotion, so soju is ₩1,000 and beer is ₩2,000 — cheaper than a convenience store. Why wouldn't you come to Yukjjip and save on drinks? The meat is delicious and the drinks are cheap too? That's a no-brainer. On top of that, there's an event where you get a service item if you wait in line — boss, are you sure you're making money selling like this...? Even outside this promo period, soju is normally ₩3,000 and beer ₩4,000, so you can drink without worrying about the bill!!

Yukjjip seating on the 1st and 2nd floors at weekend lunch
Inside there's a 1st floor and 2nd floor — the 1st floor doesn't have many seats, but the 2nd floor has plenty, so don't worry and just come!! We visited during weekend lunch and there were lots of seats available.
Yukjjip menu and what we ordered

The menu has mixed platter sets, single-item sets, and various sides — turns out it's pretty diverse. We started with the mixed platter~!
- Mixed platter 600g — ₩54,000
- Handmade pork skin — ₩7,000
The meat prices are on the cheaper side compared to other places, so we were super satisfied!! And there's even tableside grilling service.

While waiting for the food, it's worth reading the receipt review event — apparently you get a 20cm handmade sausage. Boss, are you sure you can keep giving away this much!!

Side dishes and myeoljeot (salted anchovy dipping sauce)
Look how solid the side dishes are. Seasoned bean sprouts, green onion kimchi, white kimchi, salted shrimp, wild garlic leaves, ssamjang, garlic, salt, and more — all the good stuff to eat alongside meat~

You can't skip myeoljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) when eating pork — I personally love eating pork with myeoljeot the most. TMI.

What comes in the 600g mixed platter: gabrisal, pork neck, pork belly
The meat has arrived! If you order the mixed platter, you get to try gabrisal (pork shoulder blade), pork neck, and pork belly all at once. It's a 600g set, and the portion is pretty generous, so it's a filling meal.

Once the fire's going, a staff member comes and grills it for you directly, so you just sit back and wait.
They grilled the pork neck first — it was thick and full of juice, melt-in-your-mouth tender.
They grill all the meat at once, so you end up eating in a bit of a whirlwind, but the pace was just right.

How each cut tasted, grilled by the staff
I started with the thin gabrisal — the balance of fat and meat was so good. There's some fat, not none at all, so the best combo was eating it with the seasoned bean sprouts.

The pork neck was lean and mild, so it was tasty just dipped in salt or wrapped in lettuce. It wasn't dry at all, so it was great to eat in different ways.
The pork belly had a bit more fat, so dipping it in myeoljeot to cut through the fat, or eating it with the wild garlic leaves, was the best combo. Haha.

Handmade pork skin at 7,000 won and two bottles of afternoon soju
After finishing the meat, feeling a little wistful, we ordered the handmade pork skin!! It's ₩7,000 but the portion is huge. It comes out folded in half as one whole piece. Since this is a side dish, they don't grill it for you separately, but they did give us a pressing stone(?) of sorts, so it wasn't hard to grill ourselves. And since soju was ₩1,000, we ended up drinking two whole bottles for daytime drinking. Hahahahaha that's still only ₩2,000!! Saving on drinks and getting grilled for you too — how could you ever quit this Eungam Station favorite, Yukjjip!!!!!!
