Mapo café by the Han River for lemon caramel lattes: Puru Papa
In short
Puru Papa Hangang MAPOINT Branch is a café in Mapo, Seoul, where you can enjoy drinks and desserts while looking out over the Han River, duck boats, and the sunset. I tried its shot-added Signature Latte, Lemon Caramel Latte, Deep Matcha Latte, Shanghai Butter Tteok, and Red Velvet Cake. Verdict: a sweet riverside break worth adding to a Han River walk.

Puru Papa Hangang MAPOINT Branch with a Han River sunset
Puru Papa, famous for its ice cream lattes and the perfect hideout for a sweet break alongside the Han River's red sunset, has opened at Hangang MAPOINT Branch too.

The outdoor seats take in the cute duck boats lined up along the riverbank, the shimmering water, and the sunset slowly turning gold all at once. It is a healing spot more than enough to blow away the stresses of daily city life in an instant.

Latte menu with beans and milk to choose from
Puru Papa Hangang MAPOINT Branch's greatest strength is its broad menu lineup, which can reflect each customer's preferences in detail. Its Americanos made with four carefully selected beans offer plenty to satisfy coffee lovers, and the latte milk bases are equally impressive.

There are no fewer than six choices: Sangha Farm organic milk, Puru Papa's special aged milk, clean-tasting Denmark milk, filling high-protein soy milk, nutty oat milk, and lactose-free milk for those with lactose intolerance. Everyone can enjoy a Signature Latte comfortably and deliciously.

Along with reasonably priced soft-serve ice cream for just ₩3,900, the menu is packed with unusual drinks such as Coconut Cloud and a variety of ice cream offerings—enough to leave you happily torn over what to choose.

Han River menu to enjoy from day to night
On this visit, I ordered a generous spread of Puru Papa's best items to properly experience what it does best.

They also sell beer, chimaek (fried chicken with beer), and tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) at reasonable prices, so keep that in mind. In the daytime, enjoy a sweet ice cream latte and dessert in the cool river breeze; in the evening, as the red sunset deepens, pair a cold draft beer with tteokbokki or chicken and take in the romantic Han River night view. It is a perfect place for both.

I chose Lemon Caramel Latte and Deep Matcha Latte
I chose a hot Signature Latte with an extra shot for a fuller pleasantly bitter flavor, an iced Lemon Caramel Latte where bright citrus and caramel sweetness come together in an intriguing way, and an iced Signature Deep Matcha Latte with an excellent rich green-tea flavor.

Chewy Shanghai Butter Tteok and Red Velvet Cake
The desserts, too, boast a finish that rivals a specialist bakery.

I made the spread complete with Shanghai Butter Tteok and Red Velvet Cake.
The Shanghai Butter Tteok was a real treat. It looks golden and crisp on the outside, like a madeleine or baked pastry, but one bite reveals tteok's distinctive springy, chewy texture as a rich, nutty butter flavor bursts across the mouth. It was a perfect match for the warm Signature Latte or the lively freshness of the Lemon Caramel Latte.
The Red Velvet Cake was layered, rich yet soft and sweet.
Taking the drinks in their pickup carrier, I stepped outside,

A sweet afternoon with a Han River view
The pleasantly bitter, creamy sweetness of Puru Papa's new Lemon Caramel Latte, sipped with the wide-open Han River view before me, transformed an ordinary busy afternoon into a special moment.
Leaning back in a deck chair while watching duck boats drift leisurely across the river, I even felt as though I had traveled far away—and became so immersed in the relaxed mood that I lost track of time.
Detail-rich specialty lattes, unusual chewy desserts such as Shanghai Butter Tteok that delight the palate, and hearty pub dishes to satisfy a hunger pang—this weekend, I wholeheartedly recommend experiencing an unforgettable sweet healing time at Puru Papa Hangang MAPOINT Branch, where the dazzling romance of the Han River meets a feast of captivating flavors.
