Haeundae café with a baby, parking and free decaf: Geumsong Deokmi

I'm a dad who's been craving a warm cup of coffee and something sweet lately.

This place, which opened as the second space from Gijang's Deokmi, is absolutely worth a stop if you want to slow down for a bit of sweet relief in the middle of a busy travel schedule.

Geumsong Deokmi Haeundae Haeridan-gil Branch is a café on the second floor of a building. As soon as we arrived, my husband dropped my baby and me off in front of the shop first, so we could slip right into Deokmi.

The store is on the second floor of the building, and when I opened the door and walked in, it felt like stepping into another world — warm and cozy all at once.

Once we sat down and looked outside, the passersby blending with the pretty scenery gave me such an open, refreshed feeling.

Geumsong Deokmi's dessert lineup: what we ordered

At Geumsong Deokmi Haeridan-gil Branch we ordered fig earl grey tiramisu, Oreo cheesecake, pear and rice granita, and a café latte. Completely swept up in the atmosphere, we went straight to order.

The moment the order arrived, I was amazed by how it looked. The fig earl grey tiramisu, maybe because figs were in season, was piled high and sweet with

generous fresh figs on top, and the harmony with the earl grey cream was fantastic.

The Oreo cheesecake was dense and fudgy but not too sweet, so

we scraped the plate clean without ever getting tired of it. It really made me nod and think, yes, Deokmi's café is a genuine dessert spot. But what impressed me most was the 'pear and rice granita'!

It's a handmade sorbet made with pear and rice, topped with a nutty nurungji (scorched rice) cream, sugar crystals, and cinnamon — a texture and flavor I'd never tried before.

I thought it might be a bit polarizing, but if you like cinnamon and enjoy trying new drinks, I'd wholeheartedly recommend it.

On top of that, you can choose from 3 coffee bean options (nutty, fruity, decaf), and the fact that switching to decaf is free was such a nice touch.

Parking on Haeridan-gil and tips for visiting with a baby

Parking can be tough in the alley where Geumsong Deokmi sits, so it's easier to use the Haeridan-gil public parking lot (former Haeundae Station parking lot, etc.). My husband dropped my baby and me off first, then came right up after parking the car.

Parking can be difficult given the nature of the alley, but with a public parking lot nearby, we could relax and enjoy our visit.

Using the Haeridan-gil public parking lot (former Haeundae Station parking lot, etc.) is really the most stress-free way to go.

I'd recommend visiting a bit earlier in the morning rather than during weekend afternoon peak hours.
