Songpa jazz restaurant for Friday cocktails and live music: Allegro

In short

Allegro is a live-jazz restaurant in Songpa, Seoul. On a Friday date night, we had pork-neck steak, mushroom cream potato gnocchi, feta citrus salad, and two spritzes before Another Season’s performance. Verdict: a romantic dinner with an unforgettable Lotte Tower night view.

Recently, my husband and I wanted to do something a little different for a Friday evening date, so we looked for somewhere we could dine while listening to live jazz and ended up at Allegro near Songpanaru Station. I had noticed the building before while passing through the area because its exterior was so modern and pretty, and Allegro is right on the third floor, so it was easy to find.

As soon as we took the elevator up to the third floor, we were greeted by a clean, stylish interior. Lotte Tower in Jamsil was visible through the white-framed windows, making the sleek city night view feel even more sophisticated. It gave me that excited feeling of stepping into a classic jazz club in New York.

Spritzes and Bread Before the Performance

We ordered the sous-vide pork-neck steak, feta citrus salad, mushroom cream potato gnocchi, an Aperol Spritz, and a Limoncello Spritz. While we watched the Another Season team rehearse before the show began, the table bread and our two spritzes were served.

With every sip of the Aperol Spritz, a fresh citrus sweetness came through first, followed by a delicate bittersweet flavor that lingered cleanly. The lively sparkle and orange slice made it perfect as an aperitif. The Limoncello Spritz led with lemon’s distinct bright, fragrant flavor. Its gentle sweetness and fizzy finish made it feel fresh and crisp overall. The sweet-tart lemon flavor cleansed the palate nicely, so it was a light cocktail to enjoy with food.

A Fresh First Course of Feta Citrus Salad

The feta citrus salad that followed looked wonderfully refreshing, too. Tart-sweet citrus fruit bursting with juice and fresh greens were topped with savory, lightly salty feta cheese, and the balance of flavors was so good.

The fruit’s freshness neatly balanced the cheese’s rich flavor, while the nutty granola scattered over the salad added crunch, making it an ideal first course.

Mushroom Cream Potato Gnocchi and Sous-Vide Pork-Neck Steak

Mushroom cream potato gnocchi and pork-neck steak

The mushroom cream potato gnocchi had fluffy yet pleasantly chewy potato gnocchi coated in a rich, velvety mushroom cream sauce, filling every bite with savory nuttiness. The sauce itself was deeply infused with mushrooms’ fragrant flavor, bringing a satisfying depth with every mouthful.

The sous-vide pork-neck steak was cooked using the sous-vide method, so none of the dryness that pork neck can sometimes have remained; the meat inside was moist and tender.

The savory browned exterior and the clean taste of its retained juices blended together delicately. It was also excellent with the cream sauce served alongside it, and the crispy fries made the plate generous and varied.

Another Season’s Romantic Live Jazz

Another Season live jazz performance

Another Season’s performance during our meal made Friday night feel even more special. The instrumentalists were wonderfully skilled, and the vocalist sweetly delivered songs in a range of languages, including Portuguese, French, Spanish, and English. After every song, warm applause followed alongside the night view beyond the windows, and the music fit the restaurant’s atmosphere perfectly, creating such a romantic sense of immersion.

Lunch Happy Hour and Why I Recommend a Visit

Thoughtfully prepared, high-quality food paired with polished live jazz made for a happy Friday date that I will remember for a long time.

Allegro lunch happy hour information

For reference, Allegro also runs a lunch happy hour with pasta dishes for ₩16,000, so I recommend visiting during the day to enjoy this beautiful space at a reasonable price. If you are looking for a romantic date spot or a special gathering place near Jamsil or Bangi-dong, I strongly recommend visiting Allegro, where live music fills the room! ✨
