Hongdae dessert café for a 22,000-won peach soufflé: Think Fruit
In short
Think Fruit is a seasonal fruit soufflé and parfait café in an alley off Wawusan-ro near Hongik University Station in Mapo, Seoul. During peach season the writer ordered the peach soufflé for 22,000 won plus two Americanos at 5,500 won each, and waited for it to be baked to order while boxes of peaches sat stacked in one corner of the shop. With sliced peaches and a whole peach filled with yogurt on top, Think Fruit's soufflé eats like real fresh fruit rather than a dessert with a little fruit on top.

Think Fruit is one of the Hongdae dessert cafés famous for soufflé pancakes! It's known for soufflés piled high with fresh seasonal fruit, and it just so happened peach season — my favorite — was in full swing. The moment I saw the photo of a whole peach sitting on top, I knew I had to go, haha. Having tried it myself, it's no surprise this Hongdae dessert café made the Blue Ribbon list — it really delivered.

How to walk to Think Fruit from Hongik University Station

Think Fruit is within easy walking distance from Hongik University Station. Rather than being on the main road, you'll find it a little way into the Wawusan-ro alley. It's at 14-12 Wawusan-ro 29-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, 1st floor, and since there's no dedicated parking lot, it's easier to visit by public transit.

Walking down the alley, you'll spot the floor-to-ceiling glass storefront and the "think fruit" sign. There's even a photo of the seasonal fruit soufflé at the entrance, so it catches your eye before you even see the menu.
Inside Think Fruit: peach boxes stacked by the counter

The inside was much roomier than it looked from outside. Overall it's a bright, clean space. The full glass windows keep it from feeling closed in, and there were plenty of tables good for two to three people. It felt like a great spot to catch up with a friend or drop by for dessert during a date in Hongdae.

I could also see the actual fruit they use — true to being a place built around seasonal fruit, boxes of peaches were stacked up right there. Seeing that made me even more excited for the dessert to come.

After some deliberation, this is what we went with.
Soufflé pancakes baked only after you order

Soufflé pancakes are made to order, so there's a wait involved. We were told this when we ordered and sipped our coffee while we waited patiently. Since soufflés are baked fresh rather than prepared in advance, it seems best to visit with some time to spare.

And finally, the soufflé arrived! Wow — it looked even more generous than in the photos I'd seen!!
Think Fruit's peach soufflé, piled with fresh peach

Alongside the thick soufflé pancake, the plate was piled with sliced peach, and right in the center sat a whole peach. On top of that came whipped cream and Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream.

This wasn't a case of a few token peach slices scattered on top for looks — it was a setup where you could properly eat fresh peach.

As someone who loves peaches, I was thrilled the moment I saw it, haha.

The soufflé itself was great from the moment my fork sank into it — soft and giving. It was jiggly and moist, exactly the fluffy texture I picture when I think of soufflé.

The soufflé is delicious on its own, but I liked it best topped with whipped cream and peach together.
Cutting the whole peach open: yogurt inside
And then, the other star of the plate: the whole peach. Cutting it in half revealed yogurt tucked inside. Huh? I wasn't expecting that, haha.

The peach juice mixing with the tangy yogurt gave a completely different flavor from the soufflé. It reminded me of the Greek-yogurt-with-peach style you see a lot these days — I could enjoy the peach's own flavor while still eating it like a proper dessert.
Is Think Fruit worth it for soufflé pancakes in Hongdae?

What set Think Fruit apart was that this wasn't a dessert with a bit of fruit as garnish — you actually get to eat a generous amount of peach. Since the fruit apparently changes with the season, now I'm curious about the soufflé in other seasons too. If you're looking for a Hongdae soufflé pancake, or want a dessert with seasonal fruit instead of a plain cake, Think Fruit is worth a visit.
