Goyang Chinese restaurant: level 4 jjajangmyeon at Jjamppong Jijeon
In short
Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch is a Chinese restaurant in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi, known for jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) served in graded spice levels. On a Sunday evening the visit covered rice noodle jjamppong at hell level 1, an extra-large jjajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce) at spice level 4, and Sichuan-style tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), plus bean sprouts and white danmuji from the self-bar. The spicy jjajang sauce and the chewy Sichuan tangsuyuk were both finished clean, making Jjamppong Jijeon a solid jjamppong pick near Seooreung.

Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch: parking and opening hours
Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch is a jjamppong-specialty Chinese restaurant at 424 Seooreung-ro, Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, on the 1st and 2nd floors. It's open 07:00–22:00 with last order at 21:30, and offers takeout, reservations, group seating, separate men's/women's restrooms, a waiting area, baby chairs, and a wheelchair-accessible entrance.

I was wandering around Seooreung on the weekend and stopped here for dinner. I'd been thinking about a spicy stir-fried jjamppong but kept putting it off — then, well, later, later — until I found Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch. The name alone — jijon means 'the ultimate' — tells you they're dead serious about jjamppong.
There's parking out front for a good 30 cars, and the restaurant's flavor philosophy is posted right at the entrance too. Even on a Sunday evening it was bustling, but I got lucky — exactly one table was free, so I sat right down.
Have you heard of hell-level spicy jjamppong and jjajang????? Turns out Jjamppong Jijeon is a chain, but this was my first time finding out.

What jjamppong types and spice levels does Jjamppong Jijeon offer?
Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch offers signature jijon jjamppong, cold jjamppong, hand-torn dough jjamppong, and rice noodle jjamppong. I checked the menu on the tableside kiosk and ordered. Rice noodles are the best option if regular noodles feel too heavy — that's what I picked.
I ordered the jjamppong at hell level 1, which is 1.5 times spicier than Shin Ramyun, and the jjajangmyeon at level 4, extremely spicy. Spice levels go from basic up to level 4, and level 5 requires calling a staff member, haha.

What is on the self-bar at Jjamppong Jijeon?
You can grab extra side dishes at the self-bar at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch. There's danmuji (pickled radish), jjajangmyeon pickles, black rice, cheongyang chili, chunjang, raw onion, and bean sprouts too, and the kkakdugi (radish kimchi) was delicious!
Nice touch — they even had hair ties. Can't have your hair dipping into the broth while you eat! They're free, but please don't grab two or three — just take one each. Baby spoons and tong-forks were on hand too.

There was a sign on the table saying 'play a game, win a prize,' so I scanned the QR code, but it asked for a two-step login verification and I just gave up.. maybe next time. I scooped up some bean sprouts from the self-bar to add to my jjamppong.
How was the Sichuan tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork)?
I also ordered the tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) in the Sichuan style at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch — today was a day I wanted spicy food. By the way, if you leave a Naver receipt review, you get fried mandu or a drink; I got the fried mandu.

The batter was super chewy, and the sauce was deliciously spicy. There was sweet potato in it too, sweet enough to taste like candied sweet potato~ Wannaeseu (totally my style).

Extra-large jjajangmyeon at spice level 4
Here comes the level 4 spicy jjajangmyeon. Since my jjamppong was rice noodles, plain jjajangmyeon felt like not enough, so I ordered it in the large size. I wanted it moist, so I added extra jjajang sauce. If sauce runs low, you can ask for more jjamppong broth or jjajang sauce — it's free!
It was spicy, but I still sprinkled on extra chili flakes. The danmuji at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch is super thin and white, and the combo was a match made in heaven. I never eat ramyeon without kimchi, and I never eat jjajangmyeon without danmuji!

Rice noodle jjamppong at hell level 1
A single quail egg sitting cutely on top of the jjamppong. I gave the rice noodles a stir and mixed in the bean sprouts I'd grabbed from the self-bar with the broth.

When it's this deliciously spicy, I could eat it endlessly. I was craving spicy food today, and jjamppong was on my mind, but using rice noodles let me shake off a bit of the guilt~ The rice noodle jjamppong was also incredibly good.

I was so full, but the sauce and broth were so tasty I had to try them with rice too.. I overate. Didn't leave a single grain of the jjajang-sauced rice. The jjamppong rice was also amazing. Both were manageable given the spice level, and I ate every bit happily.
Fried mandu from the receipt review: worth ordering on its own
I got these fried mandu (dumplings) from the receipt review, and next time I'll order them separately to take home. These don't seem like your regular fried mandu — they might use chili oil, since they were a bit spicy and packed full inside. I wasn't expecting much, but they were so good I didn't leave any behind either. You get punished for leaving food, you know.

Several celebrities have apparently visited Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch. At the counter there are toothpicks and Snuggle fabric softener. From the hair ties onward, the attention to detail is on point. A restaurant absolutely needs to be spotless about hygiene, and the dishes and everything else here were so clean I could eat with peace of mind.

Coffee, omija juice, maesil (plum) juice, peach iced tea, blue lemonade. They've got sweet desserts on hand to calm down the heat from the jijon jjamppong's spice too. I officially confirm Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch as a jjamppong spot near Seooreung.
