Why Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch on the way home from camping?

On the way home after a fun weekend of camping. We'd already had ojjam ramyeon at the campsite that morning, but somehow Chinese food came up in the car.

"Should we have jjajangmyeon?" "I want jjamppong!" "Let's get tangsuyuk too!" Once Chinese food came up, suddenly everyone was craving jjajangmyeon and jjamppong haha.

So our late lunch naturally turned into Chinese food! And my husband recommended Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch without hesitation.

Actually we'd been here once before on my husband's recommendation — he's pretty picky about food and calls this his favorite jjamppong spot, so we went again without a second thought.

What are parking and the dining room like at Jjamppong Jijeon?

What I liked most about Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch for a family meal was the spacious parking lot. There's plenty of parking for 30+ cars, and there's staff to help direct parking, so even on a busy weekend it was relatively easy to park.

The Seooreung area has a lot of good restaurants clustered together, so it's a nice spot to eat. When you're taking two kids out to eat, parking trouble can wear you out before you even start, so it was nice not to worry about that here.

Once inside, the atmosphere felt a bit different from a typical Chinese restaurant. There's a waiting area set up at the entrance,

and the interior is clean yet upscale, with a spacious and pleasant hall.

Especially since it's an open kitchen, you can see the cooking area, and personally I think that kind of layout builds more trust in the food.

Why Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch feels unusually clean

Actually, taste isn't the only reason my husband likes this place. He's someone who really values cleanliness, so he tends to scrutinize hygiene pretty closely at restaurants.

Jjamppong Jijeon seems to take real pride in its food. To keep the taste and quality at their best, they say they don't do delivery and focus entirely on dine-in.

They don't reuse side dishes, cook and prepare everything fresh daily, and apparently throw out any ingredient that's even slightly off — they seem genuinely serious about freshness.

On top of that, they say staff clean the entire restaurant — kitchen and hall included — by assigned zones for over an hour after closing every day. Their claim of being 'the cleanest Chinese restaurant in the country' doesn't seem like an empty boast. There's clearly a reason my clean-freak husband approves haha.

The self-serve bar: rice refills, side dishes and hair ties

The self-serve bar at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch is surprisingly well stocked. You can refill basic side dishes and toppings as needed, and rice is unlimited.

I ended up mixing a little rice into my jjamppong broth... and jjamppong rice is delicious too, ugh. There was also one service I was unexpectedly touched by — the hair ties.

There were individually wrapped hair ties at the self-serve bar. When you're eating with kids, you end up needing to tie their hair back more often than you'd think, so this small touch felt really thoughtful.

What this family ordered for a late lunch

What we ordered that day: jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) / jjamjjamyeon (half-and-half jjajang and jjamppong) / sweet rice tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) / jjamppong fried mandu. Not long after ordering, the dishes started arriving one by one until the table was completely full.

My husband, who'd had ojjam ramyeon that morning at the campsite, chose jjajangmyeon instead of his usual favorite, jjamppong, this time! Our younger one wanted jjajangmyeon too, so we ordered it large.

Lately our younger one has been in a bit of a food slump and hasn't been eating much. But that day, he polished off a whole bowl of the jjajangmyeon I served him.

I guess kids really do need to eat what they want to eat haha. This place is famous for jjamppong, but the jjajangmyeon was delicious too — very satisfying.

Jjamjjamyeon: half jjajangmyeon, half jjamppong

And then, the jjamjjamyeon our older one had been begging for! He eats almost like an adult now and handles spicy food pretty well, so we ordered him jjamjjamyeon.

You can choose the spice level for jjamppong — he's good with spicy food these days, but just in case, we went with the basic level. Turned out the heat was just right.

Above all, the jjamppong was packed with ingredients. It felt like they didn't skimp at all, and you could taste that depth in the broth too.

"Wow, this is so good!" "This is really delicious!"

Our older one kept saying this while eating. Guess he takes after his dad when it comes to knowing good food. Watching him slurp his noodles properly and enjoy every bite made me, as his mom, secretly proud.

I'd ordered jjajangmyeon separately, but I couldn't resist trying the jjamppong too. One bite in, I understood exactly why my husband picks this as his favorite. Honestly, it's one of the best jjamppongs I've ever had. Definitely a jjamppong spot worth the reputation!

Chewy sweet rice tangsuyuk at Jjamppong Jijeon

The tangsuyuk comes with the sauce poured on the side, so both the dipping crowd and the sauce-on crowd can be happy.

This time we poured the sauce, topped with fresh vegetables, straight over the tangsuyuk.

The soft, sweet sauce paired well with the crispy fried sweet potato and the chewy sweet rice tangsuyuk.

Jjamppong fried mandu, the standout dish

And the dish I especially enjoyed that day was the jjamppong fried mandu (fried dumplings)!

Unlike regular fried dumplings, these have a spicy jjamppong flavor, which made them a clearly distinctive dish. Crispy outside, moist inside, with that spicy kick added on top — a real standout.

There were 4 pieces, and since our younger one still can't handle spicy food well, I was planning to eat two myself. But our older one kept eyeing the mandu haha, so in the end I gave him one. Son... eat one more mandu and grow a little taller.

Free dessert drinks after the meal

We left completely full after our late lunch, but that wasn't the end. There was a dessert corner with a variety of drinks.

Beyond coffee and cocoa, there was omija juice, maesil (plum) juice, peach iced tea, and blue lemonade, so both kids and adults could pick whatever they liked.

Having something sweet and cold after Chinese food made for a pretty satisfying ending.

Is Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch worth it for a family meal in Goyang?

We ended up at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch thanks to a sudden Chinese food craving after a weekend of camping. For our late lunch we had a hearty spread of jjajangmyeon, jjamjjamyeon, sweet rice tangsuyuk, and jjamppong fried mandu, and the kids ate really well too, making it a satisfying meal for the whole family.

With its spacious parking lot, pleasant interior, open kitchen, self-serve bar, unlimited rice, and variety of desserts, it's also an easy place to visit as a family.

And of course, my husband's favorite dish, jjamppong, didn't disappoint. Packed with ingredients and rich, spicy depth — if you're looking for a good restaurant near Seooreung, especially for jjamppong, this is worth a visit.
