Gangneung coffee-only stop at a Gyeongpodae ocean-view café: Baegya
In short
Baegya Coffee is a four-floor ocean-view bakery café on the coastal road by Gyeongpodae and Sageunjin Beach in Gangneung. Too full for pastries, the writer ordered only an americano, a café latte and a butterscotch shot latte, then walked the first, second and third floors up to the rooftop, where every window framed the sea. With its own parking lot, an elevator and a no-kids-zone policy that keeps things quiet, Baegya Coffee makes an easy Gangneung date-course café.

I went on a trip to Gangneung, Gangwon! You know you've got to grab a coffee near Gyeongpodae when you're in Gangneung, right? If you're planning a Gangneung date course or just can't decide where to go for coffee, I recommend Baegya Coffee! The sea view sets the mood from the start, and being such a large café it felt spacious and comfortable. Shall we take a look together??

Baegya Coffee hours and location in Gangneung
Baegya Coffee is open daily from 09:00 to 21:00, with last order at 20:30. It sits on Haean-ro in Gangneung, so it's close to Gyeongpodae too.
Daily 09:00–21:00 / Last order 20:30

It's close to Gyeongpodae, and also super near other famous Gangneung spots like the beach and Seamarq Hotel's Gyeongpo Lake, which was great.

Where to park at Baegya Coffee
I arrived at Baegya Coffee! Being such a large bakery café in Gangneung, it had an ocean view of course, and was also easy to find. Head to the left and there's Baegya Coffee's own parking lot, so no need to worry about parking at all!

First-floor seating and atmosphere at Baegya Coffee
Baegya Coffee's 1st floor is an open-plan space with the order counter and seating together. I walked into Baegya Coffee! Right as you enter, you can see the whole open-layout café.

The café is big and nice, and it felt so clean too.

There were also plenty of tables and seats on the 1st floor, so you could sit comfortably and enjoy your drink.

The 1st-floor vibe has the counter where you order coffee, along with a view of the sea while you're there!

Is there an elevator, and is Baegya Coffee a no-kids-zone?
Baegya Coffee has an elevator and operates as a no-kids-zone. With the elevator, it seemed like a great place for visitors with mobility issues or families to visit.

And because it's a no-kids-zone, the inside of the café was really quiet and nice! If you're coming with kids, you might want to check ahead. There are four floors in total, with a rooftop and sky stairs where you can really take in the ocean view!

You can also go up by the stairs!

What are the ocean views like on the second and third floors?
Baegya Coffee's 2nd floor is where the sea is fully visible right through the windows. I visited the 2nd floor! Gangneung ocean-view café, amazing, right? The sea shows through the windows so clearly that everyone was busy taking photos.
The café's atmosphere is honestly a total pass! If you're looking for a good-vibe café in Gangneung, I highly recommend it!

This is the 3rd-floor vibe! Same ocean view here too! The chairs and tables have wide spacing and are so comfortable, it's the best!

The café is overall clean and quiet, so if you can't decide where to go near Gyeongpodae, come check it out! Perfect for a couple's date!

The three drinks: americano, café latte and butterscotch shot latte
Shall we order then? Baegya Coffee, a Gyeongpodae ocean-view café, sells coffee, ades, and various dessert menus like cream ice cream too. I ordered an americano, a café latte, and a butterscotch shot latte!

What's in Baegya Coffee's bakery case?
Also, since Baegya Coffee is a coffee-and-bakery café, you get the ocean view plus quite an impressive bakery selection.

They use Adamance puree, a premium French brand made from 100% pure fruit. A lot of the bread had already sold out too!

The bakery items were well individually packaged, which felt clean and nice!

If you want your coffee with a cake or some bread, come check it out!

There were also plenty of pizza-style breads like sandwiches, really nice!

There was a good variety of whole cakes and cake slices too! I was way too full, so I'll have to save the cake and bakery items for next time...

The sea from Baegya Coffee's fourth-floor rooftop
I went up and found a seat! Drinking coffee while looking at the sea felt so good?? The sound of the waves, it's been a while since I visited an ocean-view café like this!

Coming up to the rooftop, all that pent-up feeling just clears right out...!
I got a proper look at the ocean view in Gangneung, and being such a large bakery café, it seemed great for group visits too. If you still haven't decided where to go for coffee in Gangneung, I recommend this place! See you next time~~
