Weekday parking and fig campagne at Baegya, a Gangneung bakery café
In short
Baegya Coffee is a large four-floor bakery café directly in front of Sageunjin Beach in Gangneung. Arriving around noon on a Monday, the writer parked easily in the café's own lot and ordered Oksigi corn ice cream, a corn cream double-shot latte and fig campagne bread, with floors 2 to 4 kept as a no-kids zone. Dipping the mild fig campagne into the corn cream latte was the combination worth remembering.

Whenever I travel to Gangneung, I always end up looking for a café with an ocean view~
This time too, I wanted to sip coffee leisurely while looking at the pretty sea in Gangneung, so I searched around and visited Baegya Coffee, right in front of Sageunjin Beach.
The beach is right outside the café, so you can look at Sageunjin Beach while drinking coffee, and since it's a large bakery café, it's a great place to spend some relaxed time~
Why Baegya Coffee for an ocean-view café in Gangneung?
Baegya Coffee is a large four-floor bakery café located in front of Sageunjin Beach on Haean-ro in Gangneung. We visited around noon on a Monday~

Baegya Coffee is a large four-floor bakery café, and as soon as you walk in there's such a variety of bread on display that it's hard to decide what to choose.

There were also so many coffee options that picking a drink to go with the bread was another tough decision haha

What I liked most about Baegya Coffee was the ocean view. Sageunjin Beach is right in front of the café, so the sea spreads out coolly through the windows~ Every seat is an ocean-view seat, so no matter where you sit, you can drink coffee while looking at the sea.

Since it's spread across four floors, the café is spacious and the bread selection is varied, making it a great place to spend time enjoying coffee and baked goods together.
Is parking easy at Baegya Coffee on a weekday?
Baegya Coffee has space in front of the store plus its own dedicated lot next to the café, so parking was easy. Around noon on a Monday, there was plenty of space available.
When you're hunting for ocean-view cafés in Gangneung, even a pretty spot can be a hassle if parking is inconvenient, right? ㅠㅠ But at Baegya Coffee, there was no need to stress about parking!

There's parking space in front of the store, and a large dedicated lot next to the café, so parking was convenient. We visited around noon on a Monday and there was plenty of space, so parking wasn't difficult at all~
For anyone traveling around Gangneung by car, parking really matters, doesn't it ㅠㅠ
What to order at Baegya Coffee by Sageunjin Beach
At Baegya Coffee we ordered three things: Oksigi ice cream, a corn cream double-shot latte, and fig campagne bread.

We ordered Oksigi ice cream, the corn cream double-shot latte, and fig campagne bread~ Maybe because we were traveling in Gangneung, I found myself craving corn menu items haha
So I picked corn for both the ice cream and the coffee. There were so many types of bread, but since I've been obsessed with figs lately, I chose the fig campagne (campagne — a rustic French-style bread) without hesitation.
Oksigi corn ice cream and corn cream shot latte: how do they taste?
Baegya Coffee's Oksigi ice cream has actual corn kernels on top. The corn cream shot latte felt like an Einspänner-style latte piled with plenty of corn cream.
I thought Oksigi ice cream would just be corn-flavored ice cream, but it actually had real corn kernels on top haha

So every bite of ice cream came with corn kernels mixed in, giving it a nice crunchy texture. The soft, sweet corn ice cream combined with the popping corn kernels was so delicious~

If you like corn, I think you'd really enjoy the Oksigi ice cream too.

As the name suggests, the corn cream shot latte had a generous amount of corn cream piled on top, giving it the feel of an Einspänner-style latte topped with corn cream.

With the sweet, soft corn cream and coffee together, it was nice to eat like a dessert.
Fig campagne bread at Baegya Coffee, and how to dip it
Baegya Coffee's fig campagne is a plain bread with figs mixed in. The combination of dipping it into the corn cream shot latte was especially good.
There were so many types of bread that I browsed around before choosing the fig campagne haha
I've been obsessed with figs lately so I picked it without a second thought, and every bite of the plain campagne came with figs mixed in, which was so nice~

The bread itself is on the plain side, but the subtle sweetness of the figs kept it from being bland, and I kept reaching for more.
But as we ate, we discovered an unexpectedly tasty combination. Dipping the fig campagne into the corn cream shot latte was so delicious~ My boyfriend started eating it this way, and I tried following along — the plain bread with the sweet, soft corn cream turned out to go together better than I expected. Compared to eating the bread and coffee separately, combining them like this brought out a different flavor, and I really liked this combo haha
Sageunjin Beach views from Baegya Coffee's upper floors
Baegya Coffee is right in front of Sageunjin Beach, so just sitting there feels like being on vacation. Floors 2 through 4 are a no-kids zone.

Baegya Coffee is right in front of Sageunjin Beach, so it was great for drinking coffee while looking at the sea.

Enjoying the tasty bread and coffee was great, but with the sea spread out in front of us, just sitting there really made us feel like we were on a trip.

Since floors 2 through 4 are a no-kids zone, it seemed like a good option for anyone who wants to spend time gazing at the sea in a slightly calmer atmosphere.

If you're looking for an ocean-view café in Gangneung, I think it's worth grabbing a coffee at Baegya Coffee, where you can look out at Sageunjin Beach.

That day, we sat eating bread and coffee while looking at the sea for a good while, and that time turned out to be more healing than expected. Looking at the sea while eating delicious coffee and bread put my mind at ease and felt really nice haha
