Noryangjin sashimi takeout for a Chuseok holiday table: Ttangkkeut
In short
Ttangkkeut Maeul is a sashimi takeout shop in stalls 42 and 43 just inside Gate Nam-1 of Noryangjin Fisheries Market in Dongjak, Seoul. Ahead of the Chuseok holiday, the writer picked up a medium jack mackerel assorted platter for 100,000 won at Ttangkkeut Maeul, which came with red seabream, flounder and rockfish plus fish and seasoning for spicy stew, so the table was ready at home right away. For a holiday family meal or a housewarming, Ttangkkeut Maeul is a generously put-together choice.

Hey everyone~ It's Majorika haha. How's your Chuseok prep going?
With Chuseok coming up, I bet a lot of you will be heading to Noryangjin Fisheries Market for sashimi takeout, or visiting one of those chojang (vinegar-chili sauce) restaurants at Noryangjin with relatives and family haha. And since it's fall now, a lot of people are probably on the hunt for Noryangjin's fall jack mackerel too — so today I'm introducing the jack mackerel assorted sashimi platter from Ttangkkeut Maeul, a sashimi restaurant at Noryangjin Fisheries Market.
Where is Ttangkkeut Maeul? Stalls 42 and 43 inside Gate Nam-1, Noryangjin
To find Ttangkkeut Maeul, enter Noryangjin Fisheries Market through Gate Nam-1 and look diagonally to your left for stalls 42 and 43. Usually small sashimi shops here only use one stall, but Ttangkkeut Maeul uses two — that's how popular and in-demand it is, a real favorite with fast turnover.

As you can see, Ttangkkeut Maeul's display case is full of a wide variety of fresh seafood.

Autumn gizzard shad prices and the assorted gizzard shad set
When you think of fall, there's one thing that comes to mind, right? Fall jack mackerel — the fish so good it's said to bring even a runaway daughter-in-law back home. If you've been wondering about jack mackerel prices at Noryangjin Fisheries Market, take note, and Ttangkkeut Maeul also sells an affordable jack mackerel assorted set with flounder, red seabream, sea bass and jack mackerel — great to enjoy together at your upcoming Chuseok family gathering.

There are several other kinds of assorted platters too, so pick whichever suits you from Ttangkkeut Maeul's menu.

Ordering the medium jack mackerel platter for 100,000 won to go
We chose the jack mackerel assorted sashimi platter, medium size, for ₩100,000 at Ttangkkeut Maeul. My parents' home is in Incheon, and since I probably wouldn't be able to visit during the actual Chuseok holiday due to tour guide work, I went a little early and ordered sashimi takeout to enjoy with family over a drink of soju. As soon as we ordered, the staff got right to work prepping the fish.

And just like that, we had our Chuseok family-gathering sashimi platter packed up and ready to go from Ttangkkeut Maeul at Noryangjin Fisheries Market. The packaging was sturdy, which made it feel like a trustworthy place to order takeout from. They pack it with ice packs like this.

What comes in the takeout box, right down to the stew seasoning
Here's what comes with the Ttangkkeut Maeul takeout order. They give you chojang, sushi vinegar, two packs of ssamjang, soy sauce, plus the fish and seasoning for spicy fish stew — basically a ready-to-cook stew meal kit.

How the sashimi tastes: jack mackerel, red seabream, flounder and rockfish
Now let's get into the actual review of Ttangkkeut Maeul's jack mackerel assorted platter. The composition is so good that even people hosting a housewarming could order this without any worries. What I ordered was the jack mackerel assorted platter. First up, the red seabream — sliced nice and thick.
There's flounder, rockfish, jack mackerel and more, so there's plenty to enjoy according to your taste.

The medium size at Ttangkkeut Maeul is such a solid portion for pairing with soju, and if you're thinking about getting sashimi takeout from Noryangjin Fisheries Market to share a drink with family over Chuseok, I really recommend it.
Also, personally, I like buying dried kelp for about ₩990 at the neighborhood mart and wrapping a piece of sashimi in it — it makes for an incredible bite.

Spicy stew fixings included, so the holiday table comes together fast
Ttangkkeut Maeul also throws in ingredients for spicy fish stew, so without much effort at all you can just dump everything into a pot, maybe add whatever vegetables or ramen noodles you like, and end up with a delicious stew.
You don't need to tell your daughters-in-law to whip up stew seasoning from scratch like in the old days — since the stew seasoning comes packed right along with everything, it's basically a Noryangjin Fisheries Market stew meal kit where you just dump it all in and boil, which makes daughters-in-law very happy at Chuseok family gatherings.

Sashimi takeout for a housewarming: how people do it now
Being able to enjoy a piece of sashimi with a spoonful of stew like this means that people hosting housewarming parties these days aren't cooking everything themselves like a new bride used to be expected to. A lot of them are doing sashimi takeout instead.
In the past, housewarming parties were treated almost like a test of the new bride's cooking skills — bringing takeout sashimi or ordering delivery food would get you comments like 'no real effort put in' or 'feeding guests outside food.' But the culture is gradually changing, and these days, guests generally don't complain if you bring sashimi takeout and just cook up some stew. So if you're a new bride worried that 'people will think I didn't put in any effort with takeout sashimi,' don't stress — I recommend sashimi takeout from Ttangkkeut Maeul.

So that's how, after a long time away, I got to enjoy a delicious jack mackerel assorted sashimi platter with a drink of soju alongside my beloved family at my parents' home. The sashimi was sliced thick with great texture, and the composition was so solid that this is a place I'd love to visit again. Highly recommend Ttangkkeut Maeul, a sashimi restaurant at Noryangjin Fisheries Market.
