Earl Grey madeleine and chamomile tea at Eojil In, a Wangsimni café
In short
Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch is a two-floor bakery café near Exit 6 of Wangsimni Station in Seongdong, Seoul. Stopping by around 7pm after dinner with a friend, I ordered an Earl Grey madeleine, a financier and chamomile tea, and what stayed with me was the antique-yet-modern interior where every seat is different. Eojil In works well for a café date in Wangsimni, as long as you accept a busy, buzzing room rather than a quiet one.

I was looking for a café near Wangsimni Station for a café date with a friend after dinner, and ended up at Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch (어질 인 왕십리역점). This is a place where the vibe hits you the moment you walk in!
Where is Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch, and what about parking and seats?

The cozy, antique-modern interior at Eojil In

Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch is easy to find since it's near Wangsimni Station Exit 6. There's parking for 2 cars on the 2nd floor of the building, and if it's full, you can use the nearby E-Mart parking lot.
The café spans two floors, and the overall interior is antique yet modern, giving it a really cozy feeling. Genuinely COZY through and through! What stood out was that every seat felt a little different from the next, so it was fun just looking around. There were big sofa seats, 2-seaters, 4-seaters, and even group seating all set up in different ways.
Great atmosphere, but Eojil In gets genuinely crowded

That said, it has quite a lot of seats — it's two floors, after all, it's a café. But even so, it's so popular that there's barely a seat free. I've come here on a weekday before and it was crowded even then. This time I visited around 7pm and it was absolutely packed...
I think it's exactly because the atmosphere is so good that so many people come here. I could even hear a blind date happening at a table behind us, which made me weirdly self-conscious haha. It might be a bit too lively for a quiet, low-key conversation, but flip that around and it just means it's that good of a café.
Earl Grey madeleine, financier and chamomile tea

We ordered an Earl Grey madeleine, a financier, and a chamomile tea. Since we'd already had dinner, I picked light desserts, and since the café has its own bakery items, they went well with the tea.
There's also a small separate bakery called 'Eojil In' nearby. Visiting the café alone is nice, but if you like bread or desserts, it's worth checking out the bakery too. I heard the Basque cheesecake there is amazing haha, definitely try it!
Is Eojil In the Wangsimni café to pick for a good atmosphere?
Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch is personally the café whose atmosphere stuck with me the most. The antique, modern interior, the variety of seating, and the overall coziness make it great for chatting with a friend or going on a café date!
That said, it's really crowded, so if you want a quiet café, this might be a bit disappointing. I actually didn't mind the buzzing atmosphere, and given how busy it was even on a weekday, it seems like a pretty popular café in the Wangsimni area.
If you're looking for a good-vibe café near Wangsimni Station or a spot for a café date with a friend, I'd recommend this place. If I have plans in Wangsimni again, I think I'll visit once more :)
