Hongdae dessert café for baked-to-order fruit soufflé: Petrico
In short
Petrico is a soufflé dessert café in a Mapo alley near Exit 2 of Hapjeong Station in Seoul, close to Hongdae. We ordered the fruit soufflé and two hot americanos: the soufflé is baked the moment you order, thick and jiggly, with banana brûlée, orange, kiwi and blueberry cutting the sweetness. Petrico lets you pick your americano acidic or nutty, so the coffee and dessert balance well — worth the short wait.

I've been craving sweet, soft desserts lately, haha~ So I headed over to Petrico, a café in Mapo that's gotten a lot of buzz for its soufflé. The moment I stepped into the calm, cozy alley, the smell of buttery pastry and coffee drifted out and instantly put me in a good mood. So let's get into this Hongdae café, Hapjeong Station café, Hongdae dessert spot review.

Where is Petrico? A short walk from Hapjeong Station Exit 2
Petrico is close to Exit 2 of Hapjeong Station. I was won over by the exterior and mood right away. I love that brick aesthetic... and it was so clean and pretty too? Shall we go in together? (♡◕ω◕♡)
What we ordered at Petrico: fruit soufflé and two americanos
We ordered the signature-visual fruit soufflé along with two americanos to go with it! You can see more of the desserts and drinks in the slides below~

How was Petrico's fruit soufflé, baked to order?
Petrico's fruit soufflé is carefully baked fresh after you order, so it took a little time, but the wait was worth it the moment it hit the table. As soon as the plate was set down, I gasped at how thick it was, jiggling and wobbling like pudding..!
The thickness alone is overwhelming. It's so soft that a light touch with a knife makes it split apart easily. The moment it hit my mouth, there was nothing to chew — it melted away like a fluffy cloud.
There was zero eggy smell, just a subtle hint of vanilla and sweet, buttery flavor filling my mouth.
And the fruit combination that came with it was a stroke of genius!
The banana brûlée, with its crisp caramelized sugar coating, was crunchy outside and soft inside — the sweetness was on point.
The refreshing orange and kiwi, plus the bursting blueberries, kept things from getting too sweet at just the right moment.
Drizzling on plenty of the soft whipped cream and sweet syrup that came alongside, to taste..! Pure happiness ❤️

Acidic or nutty americano: which balances the soufflé?
Americano is the truth with sweet desserts, of course. The hot americano, topped with a rich crema, was heavy yet nutty with a clean finish — really charming.

A sip of warm coffee followed by a bite of sweet soufflé — the balance was absolutely perfect~ Definitely a Hongdae café, Hapjeong Station café, Hongdae dessert spot worth recognizing!

It was just right for refreshing my palate between bites of the sweet fruit and soufflé. The beans paired so well with the dessert that it deserves to be called a coffee spot too.

You could order the coffee as acidic or nutty~ Being able to pick based on your taste was the best part. It had that bitter yet explosively nutty flavor, so the deep taste really stuck with me.

Isn't the little syrup cup so cute too? I drizzled it on and enjoyed it, and the flavor really stood out.
If you love a clean combo that fills your mouth with fluffy happiness, you have to stop by Petrico! It was the perfect place to relax, get a sugar boost, and unwind. 200% would visit again. 😍
Inside Petrico: brick exterior, wood interior and seating
The inside of Petrico is decorated overall with warm wood furniture and comfortable tones, so I felt at ease the moment I stepped in. The tables, chairs, and little props are all placed tastefully without being overdone, so even a quick snap comes out looking Instagram-worthy.
The interior was also spotless and well maintained, without a speck of dust anywhere. It's also a great layout for chatting quietly with company, and the whole time I never felt rushed — it was a space where you could fully unwind.
The soft lighting made the overall mood feel even cozier. The white noise, not too loud, also matched the vibe of the space perfectly.
It's a great spot to spend time alone leisurely, or to go on a quiet date with someone special.

From ordering to preparing the menu to serving, the owner was calm and kind throughout, so I left with really good energy. Not just the dessert, but the space and service too — I wanted to give five stars across the board.

I really loved the calm, cozy mood that's unique to this place. Being a total bread-lover, it made the time even more enjoyable.
