Looking over the menu, besides the signature monkfish stew there were also solid options like cod clear stew, webfoot octopus set, and cod clear soup. With a variety of side dishes and hearty lunch specials too, it was an Olympic Park restaurant that people of all ages could enjoy.

Basic side dishes served first with the couple set
Nutty perilla seaweed soup and side dishes

We ordered the couple set, and the side dishes came out first — there was quite a variety! In particular, the perilla seaweed soup was nutty and great to eat before digging into the main dish.

How big is the couple set for two, and how does it taste?

Full spread of the couple set monkfish stew for two

The couple set we ordered arrived with a hearty portion for two and a mouthwatering, vivid red presentation. The Jeolla-style secret sauce had soaked moistly into the plump monkfish meat and crunchy bean sprouts, making it look appetizing just to see.

The sauce wasn't overly sweet — it centered on a deep, savory flavor that soaked all the way through the ingredients, adding rich depth. The plump monkfish meat had a springy yet tender texture that drew an admiring bite after bite. Picking up the crunchy bean sprouts and monkfish together, loaded with sauce, spread a diverse, rich flavor through the whole mouth.

Squid fritters and pickled onions from the couple set

The squid fritters included in the couple set came with pickled onions, and the batter was crispy while the squid was plump and delicious! We cleaned out the main monkfish stew, squid fritters, fried rice, and all the starting side dishes — every bit of it.

Self-serve side dish corner set up in the restaurant

Self-serve side dishes: the fried peppers steal the show

Partway through the meal, we headed to the self-serve corner on one side of the restaurant to grab more side dishes. The self-serve corner was stocked hygienically and neatly with a variety of side dishes that paired well with the meal, and among them, the fried peppers really caught my eye — a total standout dish~!

Standout self-serve fried peppers

The crispy-fried peppers had a nutty flavor with a subtle spiciness that made an impression, refreshing the palate even in the later part of the meal — truly serving its role as an Olympic Park restaurant specialty haha

Finishing with fried rice topped with three fried eggs

As we were nearly finished with the monkfish stew, we ordered the fried rice included in the couple set. The fried rice was cooked up with fresh sauce, so it felt hygienic! With three sunny-side-up eggs on top, the visual was overwhelming. The combination of the monkfish stew sauce, fried eggs, and seaweed flakes was so harmonious that we scraped up every last bit of the crispy rice at the bottom haha

Is the Songpa couple set worth it? Final thoughts

At Ttoksuni Agujjim Jamsil Direct Branch, we fully enjoyed the deep Jeolla-style hand-cooked flavor of 50 years' tradition, along with the standout self-serve fried peppers — a satisfying meal. The harmony of plump monkfish meat and the deep secret sauce was so good that I want to come back to this Olympic Park restaurant whenever I'm craving something spicy.
