Sinsa Chinese restaurant room for 10: snow crystal dumplings at Samsin
In short
Samsin Garosu-gil is a fusion Chinese restaurant near Sinsa Station in Gangnam, Seoul, a three-minute walk from Exit 8 and spread over the second and third floors. Ordering à la carte in a third-floor private room that seats ten or more, the table had tebanaka meat jjamppong (spicy noodle soup) at 15,000 won, handmade xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) at 8,000 won, and snow crystal fish-fragrant dumplings at 28,000 won. The shrimp-packed snow crystal dumplings were the best dish of the day, and Samsin Garosu-gil handles work dinners, dates, and big group gatherings just as easily.

Today I'm reviewing Samsin Garosu-gil, located in Garosu-gil, Sinsa-dong! It's a fusion Chinese spot where a chef who came from a Michelin two-star restaurant and a chef with hotel dining experience team up to bring Korean, Chinese, and Japanese food together in one dish.
Unlike a typical Chinese restaurant, this place adds elements of Korean and Japanese food to familiar Chinese dishes, so you get to try some unusual menu items. With its upscale interior and private rooms, I'd recommend it in Sinsa-dong Garosu-gil for a work dinner, a date, or even a meeting-the-parents kind of occasion.

You can spot Samsin Garosu-gil right away, about a 3-minute walk from Sinsa Station Exit 8. It occupies both the 2nd and 3rd floors of the building, and even from outside it has this grand, upscale feel..!!
Inside the second and third floors: private rooms for 10 or more
The moment you step into Samsin Garosu-gil, imposing dragon decorations catch your eye +_+ The soft lighting and blue-and-wood combo give the whole space a sleek feel. Total high-end Chinese restaurant vibes. There are separate private rooms, and even the hall seats have tall partitions, so you can enjoy a more private meal.

Heading up to the 3rd floor, there's even more seating. The gaps between tables are wider than on the 2nd floor, and there are quite a lot of rooms too.

We were shown to a room. It's a spacious room that fits 10 or more, so it seems great for company dinners or group get-togethers. The tableware is gold and really heavy, super luxurious. It also seems like a nice spot for treating your parents to a meal!

Which chefs are behind the Samsin Garosu-gil kitchen?
Samsin's kitchen brings together a Korean-food chef from a Michelin restaurant, a Chinese-food master with 30 years of experience, and an izakaya craftsman, all on one team. Even before ordering, I was so curious what would come out +_+ They apparently developed the menu so that Korean, Chinese, and Japanese food blend harmoniously, giving you flavors that feel familiar yet different.

Course prices and the à la carte menu at Samsin Garosu-gil
Samsin Garosu-gil has six courses total. From (A) ₩25,000, (B) ₩35,000, (C) ₩50,000, (D) ₩75,000, (E) ₩100,000, up to (S) ₩125,000, with a variety of compositions and price points. Great for special occasions or treating someone to a meal.

Besides the courses, there's a really wide range of à la carte dishes. Special, unusual menu names you don't easily see at a regular Chinese restaurant — since it's a fusion style blending Korean, Chinese, and Japanese cooking, you get to enjoy something different.

There's beer, soju, gaoliang liquor, and sake — plus non-alcoholic beer for anyone who doesn't drink.
Tebanaka meat jjamppong, 15,000 won
Tebanaka meat jjamppong is ₩15,000, and it's a chef's recommendation at Samsin Garosu-gil. It's usually a seafood jjamppong place, but I was craving a meat jjamppong for a change, so I ordered it.

The broth is made with chicken and beef, so it's spicy but rich and savory. The noodles were nice and springy too, not too thick or too thin, just the right thickness for a great texture.

When you think of meat jjamppong, you probably think of chadolbagi (thinly sliced beef brisket), right?! Samsin's meat jjamppong tops it not just with chadolbagi but also fried chicken wings. The fried coating soaks up the broth, which makes it a quietly special touch. Even after the batter got a bit soggy from soaking in the broth, it tasted great with all that rich, spicy broth soaked in.

Handmade xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), 8,000 won
Handmade xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) is ₩8,000. You can't skip xiaolongbao when eating Chinese food. It came out hot from the steamer, steam still rising — the wrapper was really thin, but inside was packed with broth and finely minced, tender meat. With one bite, the broth burst out and the meat just melted in my mouth!

Snow crystal fish-fragrant dumplings, 28,000 won: the best dish of the day
Snow crystal fish-fragrant dumplings are ₩28,000, and this was one of the dishes I was most looking forward to. It's shrimp and shiitake mushrooms coated in fish-fragrant sauce (eohyang sauce). The look alone was so distinctive, my heart was racing before I even took a bite.

You can see how much minced shrimp is packed in there! Probably because of that, the texture was great and the size was huge too. The mushroom was chewy, the shrimp springy, and the thin fried coating was also delightfully chewy — so many different textures at once, and it was genuinely delicious.
The fish-fragrant sauce is spicy with a savory umami kick, so dipping it in generously was pure bliss. The snow-crystal-shaped dumpling, which looks like scorched rice (nurungji), was crispy and nutty, giving it a distinctive flavor. Highly recommend the snow crystal fish-fragrant dumplings.
Is Samsin Garosu-gil good for a work dinner, a date, or a group?
From the manager to the chefs to the servers, everyone at Samsin Garosu-gil was really kind, and the food was overall delicious. If you're a little tired of the usual Chinese food and want to try a new style of it, I'd recommend fusion Chinese restaurant Samsin!
With its upscale interior, spacious private rooms, and even full venue rentals available, I'd recommend it not just for a date but also for a work dinner, a first birthday party, or any group gathering.
