Yongsan ramen restaurant, mild vs spicy dongpo pork sets for two

In short

Menya Seoul Yongsan I'Park Mall Branch is a ramen restaurant on the 7th floor food court of I'Park Mall in Yongsan, Seoul. Visiting on a weekday evening with her sister who wanted something spicy, the writer ordered both the mild and spicy dongpo pork chashu ramen sets (₩17,900 each) with gyoza and drinks included, and compared the two side by side. It's not a standout flavor, but a solidly tasty ramen worth recommending if you're looking for ramen in I'Park Mall.

Where is Menya Seoul Yongsan I'Park Mall Branch?

It's on the 7th floor food court, so it wasn't the easiest to find, haha. But we looked it up on the directory and my sister found it quickly. I'm the type who gets lost easily, ugh.

Weekday evening wait and seating

Luckily it was a weekday evening so it wasn't too crowded. On weekends it gets so busy it's hard to even find a seat, haha. They're currently giving out a 1st anniversary thank-you coupon too, so keep that in mind!!!!!!!

How was the mild and spicy ramen?

The noodles were chewy and went well with the broth, and one bowl was enough to fill me up. My sister added extra rayu (chili oil) because she wanted it even spicier, haha. If you like spicy food, adding rayu is a good move.

Set composition and ramen toppings

The set comes with a drink and gyoza!!!! The ramen has a tonkotsu broth base with dongpo pork, jambon, seaweed, green onion, garlic, and ajitama. The meat was tender and the broth's seasoning soaked nicely into the noodles, so it was delicious. The egg was soft-boiled too, which I love, haha. The gyoza was crispy and paired really well as a side with the ramen.

The ramen broth was rich, so it was really tasty. At first you tend to focus on the broth and noodles, but eating the dongpo pork or egg along the way gave a different kind of feel. The dongpo pork especially was quite thick but not tough at all — soft and good. Dipping the noodles fully in the broth brought out the rich flavor even more, which made it even better.

If you choose the spicy option, it has a slight kick by default, and if you like spicy food like my sister does, adding rayu is a good idea, haha. We each ordered a different flavor and compared bites — and as expected, the mild one was more my taste. Next time I'd love to try the mazesoba or chilled ramen that I didn't get to this time, haha.

Drawbacks

If I had to pick a drawback, it's that the ramen doesn't have a particularly standout flavor. It's a solidly enjoyable ramen, nothing more, nothing less!

For anyone looking for a decent ramen spot in I'Park Mall, I can recommend this without hesitation!
