A 7am visit with a 17-month-old

My 17-month-old Hajun has been staying up later lately, but today we managed to get up at dawn — because we were headed to the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan. So for an early breakfast, we headed out to Jamsil's beloved sandwich mill, Florisandwich!

Florisandwich, located in the Lecenz mall near Jamsilsaenae Station, has already been around for more than 12 years. Back when I was single, I ordered delivery from here and sometimes stopped by for a solid meal. If you're in Jamsilsaenae or Jamsil looking for an early breakfast sandwich, it's a great spot to swing by — they open at 7am.

Apple creamy egg mayo, 8,500 won

The apple creamy egg mayo is my personal pick. I've tried all kinds of egg mayo sandwiches, but this one from Florisandwich is definitely a winner. It's packed with an egg mayo salad mixed with vegetables and crab stick, plus apple, ham, lettuce, and tomato. The sauce tastes a bit like apple cinnamon jam? The combination is so good.

What is Florisandwich Jamsil like with a baby?

Tomato juice is our little guy's favorite juice. He downed it all by himself again today. The owner has the smart touch of making it without any syrup — haha. The owner always looks after the baby and greets us so warmly that we always feel at ease staying there. ♥ Since the owner has been in this same spot for such a long time, you can think of it like one of those real deal, old-school eateries in a traditional market alley.

Now that I'm a mom, sandwiches and salads made by someone else taste so good. Haha. When I was younger, half the fun was making my own sandwiches with all sorts of ingredients. Now it's basically become battle rations — something simple but filling I can eat anytime, anywhere, like a Subway sandwich! Maybe that's why Florisandwich draws everyone from office workers to moms with babies to students.

Little Hajun kept peeking around. Like a sparrow that can't pass by a mill, he couldn't resist — and the owner slipped an apple juice into his hand on the house. ♥

They even offered to watch the baby for a moment and gave us a freshly made salad for free. ♥ That was just good timing, to be fair — there happened to be a small amount of leftover filling from the croissant sandwich, so they let us try it. Haha. That was delicious too! Filled up today once again by the consistent, mother-like care at Florisandwich, I'm ready to tackle another day of parenting.
