Mozzarella cheese pork cutlet in Gangnam, Seoul: Cheongdam Kkatsu

Today I went looking for a good pork cutlet spot near Gangnam-gu Office Station and ended up at Cheongdam Kkatsu Gangnam-gu Office Station Branch. Instead of my usual cutlet, I was craving something with lots of cheese, so I ordered the mozzarella cheese cutlet! How was this Cheongdam-dong style cutlet? Let me give you my honest review haha.

Where is Cheongdam Kkatsu Gangnam-gu Office Station Branch, and what is the space like?

📍Cheongdam Kkatsu Gangnam-gu Office Station Branch is right at Exit 2 of Gangnam-gu Office Station, so it was easy to find for a meal. The store was clean with plenty of tables, making it a good spot whether you're eating alone or with a friend.

What is on the self-bar, and is rice unlimited?

On one side there was a self-bar set up. There were various sauces and side dishes, so I could comfortably grab more of whatever I ran out of without feeling awkward :) And the rice was unlimited too 🌝

What is on the menu at Cheongdam Kkatsu?

I snapped a photo of the menu board too. Besides pork cutlets, there were quite a few other options like buckwheat noodles with spicy sauce, udon, salmon poke bowl, and katsu-don 🙌

How was the 100% mozzarella cheese pork cutlet?

What we ordered was the 100% mozzarella cheese cutlet 🌟 We got spicy sauce and cola as sides, along with udon and cold buckwheat noodles. The cutlet was packed with cheese inside, so I was already excited before even taking a bite haha.

Everyone, just look at this stretchy cheese... I was genuinely amazed while taking photos 🙈 I was so hungry my hands were cold, but I still kept lifting and lowering the cheese just to watch it stretch lol.

I took a video too and it turned out amazing ❣️ The outside was fried crispy while the inside was full of warm, soft 100% mozzarella cheese, so the nutty cheese flavor really came through with the first bite! Adding a touch of spicy sauce on top cut through the richness and gave a slightly spicy finish that paired really well.

I don't think I'll ever forget this visual 💗 The stretchy cheese pull was impressive, but taking a bite showed that the cutlet itself was pretty high quality too. It felt polished yet properly made, like there was a real reason behind the 'Cheongdam' name :)

Are the udon and cold buckwheat noodle sides worth adding?

The udon I ordered as a side was tastier than expected 🍜 The warm broth was clean and savory, and it went really well with the cheese cutlet. Since the cutlet was rich with cheese, sipping the udon broth in between bites helped cut the richness and kept the meal enjoyable until the end.

Both were the same mozzarella cheese cutlet, but choosing cold buckwheat noodles versus udon as the side made the meal feel quite different each time. Still, what stuck with me most that day was, of course, the stretchy 100% mozzarella cheese 🧀

If you love cheese, I think you'll be satisfied just by the visuals alone, and if you're worried it might be too rich, I'd also recommend adding the spicy sauce!
