Yeonnam-dong bistro, pasta and risotto to share: Hôtel de Couture
In short
Hôtel de Couture is a Western-style restaurant on Donggyo-ro 46-gil in Yeonnam-dong, Seoul, and the original location behind Heyjoji. Two diners ordered one honey bacon rosé pasta (17,000 won) and one jambon truffle cream risotto (16,000 won) and traded plates, and the salty slab bacon with honey made the rosé taste unlike an ordinary rosé pasta. One pasta plus one risotto is the right amount for two people at Hôtel de Couture.

What kind of place is Hôtel de Couture?
Today I'm bringing you a review of Hôtel de Couture, where I went for pasta in Yeonnam. Actually, I visited Heyjoji in Yeonnam not too long ago and it was seriously so good…

And it turns out Heyjoji is actually the second branch of Hôtel de Couture?! No wonder it was so good... haha. Since I enjoyed Heyjoji so much, I naturally had high expectations for Hôtel de Couture too. Spoiler: this one was also a win :) Apparently every location is good haha. If you've been looking for a date spot in Yeonnam-dong or a pasta place in Yeonnam-dong, check out today's review!

It's a Western-style restaurant in Yeonnam-dong that's also easy to reach from Hongik University Station. Yeonnam-dong is a great area for grabbing a meal, hitting a café afterward, and wandering around, so I end up coming here a lot for dates. If you like pasta or risotto, it's a great spot to pair with a Yeonnam-dong date course.

We were led inside and seated :) Having already been to Heyjoji, I felt oddly extra happy to be at Hôtel de Couture.

Just like at Heyjoji, you can order through a table QR code!
What we ordered: honey bacon rosé pasta and jambon truffle cream risotto

On this visit we ordered two dishes: honey bacon rosé pasta (₩17,000) and jambon truffle cream risotto (₩16,000). Not your average menu names, right? Like Heyjoji, Hôtel de Couture's menu leans toward standout ingredient combinations rather than the usual pasta dishes. If you've been searching for pasta in Yeonnam-dong and wanted something a little different, this place is especially good for that.
And here's what arrived today :)

Honey bacon rosé pasta (₩17,000)
First up, the honey bacon rosé pasta! Just as the name says, it's a rosé pasta topped with thick, whole-cut bacon. Normally when I think of bacon pasta I picture finely chopped bits, so seeing bacon with this much presence really caught my eye.
What was especially fun was the honey + whole-cut bacon + rosé combination! The salty bacon paired with honey's sweetness made it feel distinctly different from an ordinary rosé pasta. Having a standout twist in a single dish made eating it that much more enjoyable.

Jambon truffle cream risotto (₩16,000)
Next, the jambon truffle cream risotto! Jambon and truffle cream... just hearing the name, how could this not be good haha. I remembered enjoying the risotto at Heyjoji so much that I really wanted to order a risotto again this time.
It's a dish where jambon sits on top of a cream risotto, meant to be eaten together. I'm a big fan of jambon on its own, so I also loved this combination with risotto, not just pasta. Add truffle on top of that, and the dish definitely had its own presence.
Best enjoyed by breaking the egg yolk and mixing it into the risotto with the jambon, rather than eating the jambon separately :) The jambon truffle cream risotto wasn't just a plain cream risotto — adding jambon made it feel like a signature dish unique to Hôtel de Couture.

What's the best combo for two?
Personally, if you're visiting as a pair, I think ordering one pasta and one risotto is the way to go. The honey bacon rosé pasta and the jambon truffle cream risotto each had such distinct main ingredients that it was fun taking turns eating them. It's also perfect for splitting two dishes when you're out on a date in Yeonnam-dong :) After Heyjoji, Hôtel de Couture was satisfying too... I guess every location really is worth visiting haha.

This visit to Hôtel de Couture came right after a really satisfying meal at Heyjoji, so my expectations were pretty high — and it still didn't disappoint. If you're trying to decide where to go for Western food near Hongik University Station, add Hôtel de Couture to your list.
