Pohang date restaurant with Songdo Beach views: Plan B chop steak

Today I'm introducing the grand finale of this Pohang food trip — a Pohang ocean-view restaurant! As the fourth and last stop of my August 2026 Pohang food tour, here's Plan A Restaurant, a well-known spot in Songdo, Pohang~~~~!

What the Songdo Beach view looks like from the 4th floor

The photo on the left is the view outside the window at Plan A Restaurant, a Pohang pasta and ocean-view favorite! Since the restaurant is on the 4th floor, you can see all the way out to the sea! Apparently once the weather cools down a bit, they open the terrace seats too, and being able to take in all of Songdo Beach at once was really nice~! And if you look at the photo on the right, it says SINCE 2015 — turns out Plan A Restaurant has been running continuously in Songdo, Pohang since 2015!

Inside Plan A Restaurant: atmosphere and photo spots

Plan A Restaurant, a Pohang date spot, has a cozy, warm interior! The wood tones, warm lighting, and plants quietly welcoming you felt really nice!

Even the way to the restroom felt like an art gallery, so I snapped a photo! There was even a photo zone in front of the restroom! I took one there too hahahaha

Naver reservation perk: one free side menu

Being a well-known restaurant near Songdo Beach in Pohang, it seemed like a lot of people had made reservations! There were reserved tables here and there, and if you book through Naver reservation, you get a free coupon for one side menu of your choice, so if you're heading to Plan A Restaurant — a great date spot with a sea view — definitely!!! use Naver reservation!

The quotes on the wall are so pretty, right? I thought I just liked calligraphy, but turns out I just love the words themselves! Something about it is really touching!

The self bar and aprons at Plan A Restaurant

The staff at Plan A Restaurant, a Pohang ocean-view restaurant, take care of most of the basic setup, but if you need extra tableware or side dishes, there's a self bar you can help yourself to! And since you probably came dressed up for your Pohang date, they also have aprons on hand so you don't ruin your clothes — eat comfortably!

The order: PLAN.B beef chop steak 120g and beef pilaf

Ta-da~ Here's what I ordered: PLAN.B beef chop steak 120g (spicy), beef pilaf (spicy — regular ramen heat level), white rice (Hetbahn 210g), green grape ade, and americano!!!

Doesn't it look so good?! Apparently Plan A Restaurant, a Songdo Beach favorite in Pohang, uses actual hanwoo (Korean native beef) for the beef!!!!! Maybe that's why it was even more tender and delicious!

Plan A vs Plan B chop steak: what's the difference?

The difference between the Plan A beef chop steak and the Plan B beef chop steak is whether the sauce is stir-fried in or not — I ordered the Plan B beef chop steak, which comes with the sauce served separately! But the chili oil does come already stir-fried in! The sauce is apparently made by hand by the owner-chef with 20 years of experience, and it really is delicious!

Looking into it, the Plan A beef chop steak (the one stir-fried with the sauce) is the best-seller, and now I get why! I want to try the Plan A version next time! Dipping it versus having it stir-fried from the start really does taste a bit different! But the dip-style Plan B beef chop steak was also super tasty!

Also, at Plan A Restaurant, a Pohang ocean-view date restaurant, the pilaf was a bit mushy! I'd suggest reading this before you order! But still, it's delicious!

Drinks poured to the brim and house-made pickles

I was surprised they filled the coffee and ade right to the brim~~ The staff at Plan A Restaurant, a Pohang ocean-view date favorite, are amazing! They set them on the table without spilling a single drop!!

The pickles are truly the real deal. You know how a place with good pickles is always a genuinely good restaurant~~~ The salad served alongside was tasty too~~~ I wonder if they made that sauce themselves too??? The pickles were definitely house-made!!

I dunked it deep into the sauce made by the 20-year veteran chef and ate it with rice too, and my husband — self-proclaimed foodie — told me the mushrooms are good even without dipping them in sauce, while I insisted the meat needs the sauce, so I dunked it in deep and ate it with the vegetables too~

The fries are cajun-style, crispy on the outside and moist inside — the real deal!!! We finished the pilaf too, deliciously and completely full!!

On the way out, I noticed the calendar at the register — it's stylish too hahaha
