Eunpyeong Korean BBQ with open-front ground-floor seats: Yukjjip

In short

Yukjjip is a Korean BBQ restaurant specialising in Jirisan-aged pork in Eunpyeong, Seoul, right in front of Eungam Station on Line 6, where Bulgwangcheon stream begins. A 5pm weekend visit meant a 15-minute wait, then a table on the fully open ground floor, where staff grilled the pork platter (whole belly, neck and gabrisal) and pork skin from start to finish. Yukjjip is not a true outdoor tent bar, but it has the same open-air feel — a good spot for pork belly and a glass of soju.

The weather's been so nice and cool lately, perfect for getting outside. With a cool breeze blowing and clear skies, I feel like my mood just gets lifted for no reason.

And on a day when the weather's this perfect and my mood's this good, what else but meat, right? My husband and I went out for a change of pace, to catch some autumn air and enjoy a date somewhere with good vibes — a place in Eunpyeong famous for its pork belly.

Visiting Yukjjip, a pork belly restaurant in Eunpyeong

It's not an outdoor tent bar, but it's Yukjjip — a place where you can really feel that outdoor vibe while eating high-quality aged meat!

The outdoor-feeling atmosphere inside Yukjjip

The taste, the atmosphere, and the service were all fully satisfying — let me get into the honest review!

Where is Yukjjip? Right in front of Eungam Station, where Bulgwangcheon begins

Yukjjip, this Eunpyeong-gu pork restaurant, sits right in front of Eungam Station on Line 6. It's right where Bulgwangcheon stream starts. There's no way you could miss where it is.

If you're looking for a meat spot near Eungam Station or planning a Bulgwangcheon date route, this is a perfect spot to fit into your plans for a meal.

How long is the weekend 5pm wait at Yukjjip? 15 minutes, plus a prize draw past 20

Since this is a popular spot near Eungam Station, though, you'll need to wait during peak mealtimes. I visited around 5pm on a weekend and had to wait. Seating strictly goes in the order you arrive.

What really stood out was how much they look after waiting guests. If you wait over 20 minutes, they run a nostalgic no-lose prize draw. I only waited 15 minutes, and honestly I kind of wanted to wait longer haha.

Pregnant guests get seated first. I really felt the owner's thoughtful, warm consideration.

Yukjjip's drink prices and waiting-line notice

Soju ₩1,000 and beer ₩2,000 at Yukjjip until October 31

On top of everything, the drinks are really cheap. Soju is ₩1,000 and beer is ₩2,000. Even a soju-beer mix only costs ₩3,000. This runs until October 31, so make sure to visit before then. Let's head inside.

Yukjjip's ground floor opens right up, so it feels like eating outdoors

It's not stuffy like a typical Korean BBQ place. The ground floor has all its doors open, so there's a real sense of openness — it feels like eating outside. At first I thought there weren't enough tables, but it turns out there's a second floor too.

The tables are spaced generously, not cramped, so you can chat comfortably on a date without worrying about the next table over. There are tables for 2, 4, and 6, so it works just as well for couples' dates as it does for family meals or group gatherings.

A solo diner seated at Yukjjip's 6-person table, strictly in waiting order

When we visited it was fully booked, so we waited a bit, and I witnessed something interesting. The first person in line was dining alone, and the table that happened to open up was a big 6-person table. At a typical restaurant, thinking about revenue, they might seat a larger group that arrived later first, or shuffle the order — but here, they stuck to the rule and happily seated the solo diner, who was first in line, at that huge 6-person table.

Watching someone enjoy a meal alone at that big table was a little surprising, and it also made me think — from the owner's perspective, isn't that a loss? — which made the place feel honest and truly guest-first. The staff were all so kind and full of energy too, which made the whole meal really comfortable and enjoyable.

Yukjjip's menu — the Jirisan-aged pork platter

Yukjjip only serves Jirisan-aged pork. From the basic meat menu to rice dishes and drinks, everything is priced well. Most people seem to order the platter (moduem). Depending on your group size, you order the regular or the large platter. The platter comes with whole pork belly, pork neck, and gabrisal.

The surprising thing is that soju is only ₩3,000 even outside the promo period. For anyone who likes to drink, this is an absolute paradise of value.

The side dishes came out neat and tidy.

Of course, all the side dishes are refillable.

Refillable side dish plates

Freshly tossed bean sprout and scallion salad, tangy-sweet baek-kimchi (white kimchi), fermented anchovy sauce, salt, and various other sauces were all set up. Each basic side dish felt made with real care, so honestly the sides alone could finish off a bowl of rice.

Yukjjip's pork platter — staff grill it from start to finish

Our ordered platter arrived! The meat's visual is no joke. The cuts are incredibly thick, and the ratio of bright red lean meat to fat is just about perfect!

One of the biggest perks here is that the staff grill the meat carefully from start to finish. Thick cuts like this can easily lose their juices or burn on the outside if grilled wrong, but with a professional touch, they get it to just the right doneness — you just have to sit back and eat.

You never even touch the tongs. They do everything.

Can you see the thickness? The color? Even without tasting it, you can already tell how good it'll be.

While we were chatting, the pork neck was almost done cooking. Right as it finishes, the pork belly goes on next. Because the cuts are so thick, this is exactly the right timing!

You just have to eat the pieces they've set aside.

Pink salt with the gabrisal, salted shrimp with the pork neck

I dipped the gabrisal (pork skirt meat) in Himalayan pink salt. It's chewy with an appealing texture, savory and delicious.

Gabrisal dipped in pink salt

I tried the pork neck with salted shrimp, and it's different from the usual salted shrimp you get elsewhere. The pork neck itself is packed with juice, and the salted shrimp adds a savory depth. A fantastic combination.

My favorite thing is dipping it in fermented anchovy sauce. It's salty and really brings out the meat's flavor. Now I get why this is a famous restaurant in Eunpyeong.

Once the vegetables are cooked, they're taken off the grill too, just like this. There's nothing for you to worry about.

Baek-kimchi is the perfect combo to cut through the richness of the meat!

Now I understand why this is a famous pork belly spot in Eunpyeong. However you eat it, it's really all delicious.

All you have to do is eat the meat they've grilled for you — so easy!

Adding pork skin at Yukjjip — this one you grill yourself

We ordered pork skin on top, and this one you grill yourself.

A large order of extra pork skin

Isn't the pork skin huge? Grilling pork skin is actually pretty tricky, but they give you a press to flatten it, which makes it so much easier.

The taste is, of course, great. No gamey smell, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside — a really nice texture. It's great as a final side dish with a glass of soju!

Is Yukjjip near Eungam Station worth it? Final verdict

Yukjjip near Eungam Station is a spot in Eunpyeong where taste, atmosphere, value, and kindness all line up perfectly. They grill all the meat for you, and thanks to the excellent service, we got to enjoy a cozy date filled with conversation. I didn't drink, but between the low-pressure soju prices and the solid flavor, I can see why this place turns first-time visitors into regulars — it has that undeniable charm.
