Seoul Korean BBQ under 7,000 won per 100g: Daepae Market, Nonhyeon
In short
Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch is a 24-hour Korean BBQ restaurant specialising in thin-sliced daepae pork, right at the entrance of the Yeongdong Market food alley by Nonhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul. The order was three servings of flower pork belly at 6,900 won per 100g, thin-sliced pork cheek and jowl, and kimchi noodle soup, plus a self-serve bar fee of 2,000 won per person — and the flower pork belly tasted so close to the cheaper thin-sliced pork belly that the cheaper cut is the better buy. With outdoor tented tables and a roomy indoor floor, Daepae Market suits solo diners and big groups alike.

I visited Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch, a cut pork belly spot that nails both value and premium quality, and one of Gangnam's 24-hour restaurants — haha! There's usually a bias that cheap cut pork belly means lower-quality meat, but this brand exists to break that stereotype, managing everything themselves from selecting the meat to trimming and serving it! And since you can enjoy premium meat at a reasonable price, the value here is really great too~ It's an easy place to eat without feeling pressured, so all kinds of guests visit — from solo diners to big groups — making it one of Gangnam's go-to 24-hour restaurants!!

The storefront and the outdoor tented tables

Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch is a cut pork belly spot loved by many celebrities, and it's been featured on shows like Tobap Ssonda, Donmatjjang, Saturday Is for Rice, and Ogu Ogu Bored Princesses~

Another reason it's so popular is that you can enjoy delicious pork belly in an outdoor tented-seating vibe~ With the weather turning cooler these days, it's the perfect time to enjoy that tented-seating mood haha.
What is the indoor seating like at Daepae Market?
There were so many celebrity signatures on the wall by the register at Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch that you could tell just how popular this place is~!

Even without outdoor seating, the indoor tables were clean and roomy, so we could sit comfortably and eat at a relaxed pace with the people we came with — and since the tables were spaced well apart, we could focus on the meal privately haha.
Menu, prices and the 2,000 won self-serve bar fee

If you leave a Naver receipt review, you get a free doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) or tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patties), so I'd recommend taking part haha.

Premium meat at reasonable prices — you can enjoy Spanish Duroc cut pork belly and pork shoulder at fair prices, and there's also a wide range of other cuts like Hanwoo brisket point, Hanwoo thin-sliced brisket, dry-aged pork belly, and cut duck!
Here's what we ordered.
- Self-serve bar fee ₩2,000/person x2
- Flower pork belly 100g ₩6,900 x3
- Cut pork cheek and jowl 100g ₩6,900
- Kimchi noodle soup ₩8,000
What the self-serve bar and the basic table setting include

Each table had salt, pepper, and sesame oil ready to go~ and lettuce wraps, kimchi, side dishes, and sauces were all freely available at the self-serve bar~! They also had vegetables like bracken fern, water dropwort, and bean sprouts set out — delicious grilled in the pork belly fat — so the whole setup felt really well thought out~

They had the side dishes ready to go the moment the meat arrived so we could start grilling and eating right away haha.

Flower pork belly, 100g for 6,900 won — any different from thin-sliced pork belly?
The flower pork belly came out first~! The meat is sliced fresh on a meat slicer the moment you order, so it stays juicy and fresh with amazing flavor!

Pork belly really is best grilled in its own fat with a bunch of vegetables, and here they sprinkled the meat with pepper from the table shaker and grilled it up deliciously haha.

The flower pork belly had the fat and lean meat balanced really nicely, so it was savory and juicy — delicious, as expected! But honestly, the texture and taste weren't that different from the regular cut pork belly, so I'd recommend ordering the cheaper cut pork belly for better value!

Thin-sliced pork cheek and jowl, 100g for 6,900 won: the texture
Since I wanted to try another cut, I ordered the cut pork cheek and jowl!

The cut pork cheek and jowl is sliced thin like the pork belly, so it cooks much faster than regular jowl meat, and being so thin, it grills golden brown all the way to the edges — the texture was really great! ㅎㅎ One bite and you get that signature chewy-yet-crunchy texture of jowl meat, along with a savory richness from just the right amount of fat that was really appealing!

Finishing with kimchi noodle soup for 8,000 won
To finish the meal, I ordered the refreshing kimchi noodle soup to clean the palate!

The kimchi noodle soup had tangy, cool kimchi broth that paired really well with the chewy noodles~! The crunchy texture of the kimchi and its subtle savoriness made everything feel cleaner in the mouth, and the tangy-sweet, cool broth cut right through the rich, fatty taste of the meat — so even after filling up on meat, I kept going back for more!

It was truly a filling meal that was also great value~ That was my review of the great-value pork belly at 'Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch,' one of Gangnam's 24-hour restaurants!
