Lately when picking a lunch menu, I keep craving something light yet filling rather than heavy or greasy food :) So this time I went to Ola Poke near Samseong Station for some poke. I usually love salad, but eating just vegetables alone can feel a bit lacking sometimes, right? Poke comes with fresh vegetables plus various toppings and ingredients all together, so it made for a complete meal — but it was so popular at lunchtime that even though I went a bit after the lunch hour, there were still soooo many people...

Arriving in front of the store, the Ola Poke sign was easy to spot so it wasn't hard to find at all. The exterior has an orange accent that catches your eye even from a distance :)

When looking for lunch near Samseong Station or COEX, Korean food or noodles are great, but sometimes you crave something a bit lighter and easier on the stomach. This was a place where you could try that kind of poke salad, a Samseong Station favorite for exactly those days.

Inside Ola Poke Samseong Branch and how kiosk ordering works

Stepping inside, the store was compact but neatly arranged. Orange accents appeared throughout, giving the whole place a bright, cute feel. The ordering area was visible at a glance, so it wasn't confusing even on a first visit. For dine-in, you order through a kiosk, and if you're getting takeout, ordering ahead and picking up seems more convenient. Since it's a spot many nearby office workers visit at lunchtime, it can get a bit crowded.

Seats that make solo dining easy at Ola Poke

On one side there was a spot to grab water and utensils needed for the meal. The whole place felt tidy and easy to use. Further inside there were facing tables set up too. There were also seats comfortable for eating alone when visiting solo, so it didn't feel awkward for solo dining at all :) When you need to eat lunch by yourself in Samseong-dong, this seemed like a good place to fill up on a solid bowl without anything too elaborate. The Ola Poke logo written on the wall was cute too and matched the store's vibe well.

How does the salmon and avocado poke bowl taste?

Who says dieting means being hungry? Here's a build-your-own poke with generous portions and great taste. A low-carb, high-protein poke I could seriously eat every day — the Super Protein Poke looked amazing, plenty of volume, and adding extra salmon made it even more generous. My poke finally arrived :) The colorful, vibrant look the moment I received it already made it look really appetizing.

Salmon and avocado, corn and onion, fresh vegetables and various toppings were all generously piled into one bowl. The colors were so pretty that I couldn't help but take several photos before eating, haha.

The big chunks of avocado on top caught my eye first. Eating the soft avocado together with the salmon gave a rich yet smooth flavor that paired really well. Add in the sweetness of the corn and the crunchy texture of the vegetables, and each bite offered a different flavor and texture, which I loved :)

Mixing the poke bowl with the sauce

I drizzled on a bit of sauce and mixed the ingredients together. Salmon on its own is tasty, but I preferred scooping up avocado, vegetables and toppings all together in one big bite :) With the savory ingredients and crunchy vegetables coming together, the texture felt so much richer. With salads, you sometimes feel hungry again shortly after eating, but poke includes not just vegetables but a variety of ingredients, so the meal was surprisingly filling.

Ola Poke Samseong Branch: location and visiting tips

Ola Poke Samseong Branch is located on the 1st floor at 34 Yeongdongdae-ro 85-gil, Gangnam-gu. Heading toward Teheran-ro from Daemyeong Middle School made it relatively easy to find. It seems like a decent location for Samseong-dong office workers to visit during lunch. Hours and days off may change, so I'd recommend checking Naver Map before you head over :)
