I went to Selected Nicks, one of the big cafés near Gangnam Station that even has a rooftop! It uses 5 floors and is always packed on weekend peak hours, but I went early and finally got a table — success 🫶🏻 Let's get into this hot Gangnam café review.

Where to order at Selected Nicks: the 1st-floor candy bar

At Selected Nicks you order drinks and desserts on the 1st floor, then go up to whichever floor you want. As soon as you walk in, there's a cute little candy bar! The 1st floor has a soft, adorable vibe 😉

During peak hours all the tables can be full, so I'd recommend checking for a seat before you order~~~

How much are tiramisu and baked sweets at Selected Nicks?

This big Gangnam café is famous for authentic Italian tiramisu! If you buy it as a gift set it comes packaged in a pretty box — receiving one would honestly make anyone happy 😆 I was too full to get tiramisu that day... but seeing it on another table, the visuals were amazing ㅠㅠ I feel like I need to come back to Selected Nicks soon just for the tiramisu!

Basement 1: a real gallery space

⬆️ Basement 1 ⬆️ Doesn't it feel like you've walked into a gallery? It's not just gallery-like, it IS a gallery, with real artworks on display 😆 The pieces even rotate seasonally, so there's always something new to see whenever you visit — a perfect date course near Gangnam Station!

2nd floor: a photo zone full of Doraemon

⬆️ 2nd floor ⬆️ The artwork is closer than you'd expect, so you can get some really good shots 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 The 2nd floor is full of cute Doraemon, so you can get an adorable concept photo here 😚

3rd floor: big tables and a bar counter with power outlets

⬆️ 3rd floor ⬆️ There's a long, large table that's great if you're coming with a group! Along the wall there's a bar table, and there are outlets lined up in front, so it's perfect for studying too 💪🏻

Rooftop: best visited around sunset

⬆️ Rooftop ⬆️ This nicely vibed rooftop needs no explanation. The sky happened to be clear that day, making it feel even better 👍🏻 A lot of reviews say it's especially pretty and romantic around sunset. If you eat dinner a bit early and drop by, you should be able to catch a beautiful sunset 😆

How the iced Earl Grey, financiers and cookie brownie tasted

I ordered the iced Earl Grey for ₩6,500. While picking a drink to go with something sweet, I chose Earl Grey instead of iced Americano! The clean taste was great for resetting your palate, and I liked its subtle, unusual Earl Grey aroma.

Classic financier ₩4,500 / choco salty financier ₩4,500 / cookie brownie ₩4,500. I loaded up on sweets and the visuals were seriously mouthwatering 🤤 Crisp outside, chewy inside — a proper financier that I devoured in no time~~~

I was especially curious about the cookie brownie since it was my first time trying one — brownie on the bottom, cookie on top. You could feel both the chewy and crisp textures at once, and it was genuinely delicious 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 It was also a good size so it was quite filling, and the price was kind too, so I'd highly recommend it!

Is Selected Nicks in Gangnam worth a visit?

That was my review of getting my sugar fix at Selected Nicks, a large Gangnam café ❤️ There were plenty of tables and restrooms on every floor, so it felt comfortable to use. Plus the fantastic rooftop was a bonus 😉 It's a great place to visit in this cool weather these days.
