Jeonpo-dong date-night bar with mala udon and mungtigi: Ganbame

In short

Ganbame is a bar on the Jeonpo-dong bar street in Busanjin, Busan. The order here was a raw beef and aged kimchi roll plus a full plate of mungtigi (hand-cut raw beef), followed by a side of mala udon because one round wasn't enough. With seasoned rice inside the beef roll, mungtigi with no off taste, and a tingly mala udon, Ganbame makes a strong candidate for a Jeonpo-dong date night.

Today I want to introduce a bar with amazing snacks in Jeonpo-dong! I visited this place and the food was so good I think I'll become a regular haha. Especially the raw beef kimchi roll — highly recommend! It's on a totally different level from any raw beef dish I've had before, and honestly every single dish here was insanely good 🤤 The staff were friendly too, and the vibe was great, so I really want to recommend this Jeonpo bar 'Ganbame' to anyone looking for a date spot near Seomyeon or Jeonpo. Here's my honest review 💛

Ganbame is a new bar on the Jeonpo-dong bar street. I was out for a Jeonpo date night, wasn't sure where to go, but the moment I looked at the menu I knew — this is the place! — so I walked right in haha.

Inside Ganbame: works for a date or a group night out

Since it's a new spot, the interior is clean with soft lighting — perfect for a Jeonpo date night bar. At the same time, there's a big screen and plenty of tables, so it also works for company dinners or group get-togethers.

The interior felt clean and the lighting was soft, giving it a really nice atmosphere for a new bar. It's the perfect spot for anyone dating in Jeonpo or looking for a bar with good vibes!

The staff were full of energy and super friendly! Made me feel good the moment I walked in haha.

Hall seating at Ganbame with a large screen

This is a great screen bar to visit during baseball or soccer season in Jeonpo. There's a big screen in the store, so it's nice to watch a game while having a drink. The interior is spacious with lots of tables, great for company dinners or group gatherings too 👍 You can book in advance too, so keep that in mind haha.

What's on the menu at Ganbame

Menu

I was hooked the moment I saw the menu >< 📌 Mungtigi, hot pots, pasta, savory pancakes, raw beef kimchi rolls — all the drinking snacks I love, all in one place 🤤 There's a wide variety too, so it's great for a group visit where everyone can order what they like! Plus there's even a bingsu (shaved ice) dessert option — a menu clearly built for women's tastes 💗

The complimentary starter is sundubu (soft tofu)

The basic side dish is sundubu, and it comes with a savory sesame sauce and bonito flakes on top! The soft texture of the tofu paired with the nutty sauce made for a light bite before drinking ☺️

It was so good we cleared it before the main dishes even arrived, while having a drink lol. When even the basic side dish is this good, you get even more excited for the mains 💛

Raw beef and aged kimchi roll: even the rice inside is seasoned

The main dishes we ordered at Ganbame were the raw beef kimchi roll and a full plate of mungtigi (fresh raw beef). Mungtigi can also be ordered as a half plate, so it's no burden if you just want a light bite.

The mains have arrived ✨ Doesn't it already pass the visual test?! I ordered the raw beef kimchi roll and a full plate of mungtigi! Since mungtigi can be ordered as a half plate, it's easy to enjoy even if you just want something light.

Straight into mixing a somaek (soju + beer) — cheers 🍻 The raw beef kimchi roll comes with a dipping sauce, and that sauce is the real kicker! The nutty flavor of the raw beef combined with the sauce brought out an amazing depth of flavor.

You guys have to order this, it's seriously so good..❤️ I've had raw beef kimchi rolls elsewhere, but this one felt totally different! Usually the rice isn't seasoned on its own, but here even the rice itself is seasoned, which made it that much more unique and delicious.

There's even cheese on top for extra nuttiness! We both took a bite, looked at each other, and immediately said how good it was 🥰

A full plate of mungtigi, and how to eat it with sesame oil, seaweed and dadaegi chili paste

A full plate of glossy, deep-red mungtigi

Freshness is everything with mungtigi, and the color alone was a deep, bright red that looked so appetizing. It even had that glossy sheen — you could tell just by looking that it was fresh 💛

Mungtigi with side condiments dadaegi and seaweed

At first I just dipped it lightly in sesame oil, and the nutty aroma spread right away, really bringing out the natural flavor of the mungtigi. It was chewy yet soft, with no gamy smell at all — clean enough that even plain sesame oil kept me reaching for more.

It's also delicious wrapped in seaweed, and even better with a little dadaegi (spicy chili condiment) on top! The spicy kick from the dadaegi brought out even more depth of flavor, and the drinks just kept flowing.

Side mala udon instead of the mala hot pot

Ganbame's mala udon was the side dish I chose after getting curious about the mala hot pot but being too full for it. A lot of the other tables were ordering the mala hot pot.

It felt like a shame to stop eating there, so I ordered the mala udon on top haha. They also have a mala hot pot here, and I noticed a lot of tables ordering it! I got curious whether this place was known for mala, but since I was already pretty full, I went with the side dish, mala udon instead lol.

Side dish mala udon on the table

Wow, the sharp mala aroma hit my mouth with a tingling heat, but it was oddly addictive so I kept eating. The chewy, springy udon noodles paired perfectly with it too — my mouth was numb but I couldn't stop reaching for more lol. If you like mala, you'll definitely love this!

There's also fun in picking out the chewy beef tendon and crunchy wood ear mushrooms 💛

Table cleared of all dishes after the meal

Is Ganbame a good pick for a Jeonpo-dong date night?

It's been a while since I took an empty-table shot 📸 That's how much we enjoyed every single dish! If you're looking for a bar with great food, I think you'll be satisfied here — I'll probably come back for my next Jeonpo date. If you're looking for a bar with good vibes in Jeonpo, I recommend 'Ganbame' for your next Jeonpo date or night out 🍻
