Raw beef bar on Jeonpo Saitgil, Busan: mungtigi half plate at Ganbame
In short
Ganbame is a raw beef and hotpot bar on Jeonpo Saitgil (전포사잇길) in Busanjin, Busan, with wood-toned interiors and a large screen. The mungtigi half plate of raw beef costs 17,900 won and the yukhoe mukeunji roll, raw beef with aged kimchi and cheese, is 18,900 won, both eaten here with soju at 5,500 won a bottle. The mungtigi was so springy and chewy that a half plate felt too small, and for a clean drinking snack in Jeonpo-dong, Ganbame is the answer.

Finding Ganbame while walking Jeonpo Saitgil in Busan
Ganbame is a hotpot and raw beef bar on Jeonpo's alley street (전포사잇길) in Busan. Jeonpo-dong has so many atmospheric bars that it's hard to decide where to go — I was walking the alley street looking for somewhere simple to have a drink and stumbled on this place. I was completely won over by the stylish interior and walked right in ^^
Ganbame

From the entrance it already had a comfortable, sentimental mood — the wood-toned interior and soft lighting really stood out along Jeonpo's alley street ^^

A spacious interior with an antique feel ^^ Once inside, the lighting was so soft it felt perfect for an evening drink!

Ganbame's big-screen seats and wood-toned interior
What I loved most about Ganbame was the large screen ^^ Anyone who likes baseball would love this. It's a great spot to drink while watching a game with friends, or to meet up with fellow baseball fans!

The basic table setting!

- Mungtigi full plate ₩28,900 / half plate ₩17,900 — soft yet chewy, both textures in one dish
We ordered the mungtigi half plate ₩17,900, the yukhoe mukeunji roll ₩18,900, and soju ^^

The basic side dish ^^ Soft tofu topped with bonito flakes — delicate and distinctive haha

How big is the mungtigi half plate at 17,900 won?
Ganbame's mungtigi half plate is ₩17,900, and even as a half plate the portion was pretty generous, and it looked fresh to boot!! Mungtigi has a different appeal from thinly sliced raw beef. It's chewy yet springy, and you can really taste the clean flavor of the meat itself, which pairs so well with a glass of soju ^^ Especially good for people who prefer a clean, light snack over something heavy or greasy while drinking ^^

Dipped into the signature sauce it gets even more savory — the kind of taste that keeps you reaching back for more!! One bite in and I already regretted only ordering the half plate ㅜㅜ So chewy and satisfying!!

Wrapped in seaweed with seasoned chives ^^ Even better because it was raw seaweed, not the seasoned kind!!
What is the yukhoe mukeunji roll (18,900 won)?
Ganbame's yukhoe mukeunji roll is ₩18,900, and the moment it arrived I was impressed by the visual ^^ Seasoned rice loaded with egg and plenty of raw beef, rolled up in aged kimchi (mukeunji), and the cheese sprinkled on top lifts the flavor even further ^^

The dipping sauce for the yukhoe mukeunji roll ^^ Sweet and salty, reminiscent of a raw beef sauce!!

Also great with a bit of wasabi on top ^^ The soft, clean raw beef combined with the tangy, crunchy aged kimchi made for a combo you keep eating without ever feeling greasy! With the kimchi added, it paired even better as a drinking snack than eating the raw beef alone ^^ In one bite you get both the beef's soft texture and the kimchi's crunchy tang — a completely different appeal from the mungtigi!!

A flavor that calls for soju ^^
Is Ganbame worth it for drinks in Jeonpo-dong?
I was curious about the other menu items too, but since I had a second-round plan, I regretfully stopped here ㅜㅜ A place I want to come back to and try the other snacks! If you're looking for somewhere to drink with friends in Jeonpo-dong, or want a relaxed drink while watching baseball, or need a date spot, I recommend Ganbame ^^
