Hi everyone, this is Nana. > _<!!
Have you heard of Doris Patisserie, the famous egg tart bakery in Sokcho?! These days you can reserve ahead and pick straight up. I'm the type who has to try any place that gets buzz for being famous and delicious, especially with egg tarts since I love them so much.
Doris Patisserie had built up such a buzz that I was dying of curiosity, so I reserved and took some home to taste. Since it was a weekday, I think that's why it went so smoothly.
Where is Doris Patisserie, and what are its hours and parking?
Doris Patisserie is located at 26 Jungang-ro 147beon-gil, 1st floor, Sokcho, Gangwon, and its hours are 10:00-16:00. There are two break times, 11:00-12:00 and 13:00-15:00.
Since they mainly run on reservation sales, I'd recommend reserving ahead. I parked at the Sokcho Central Market public parking lot. There seem to be a few spots nearby for a quick stop, but it's more convenient to use the public lot if you can.

It's currently making a name for itself as a top egg tart spot in Sokcho, and since it's convenient to pick up while visiting Sokcho Central Market, I'd suggest reserving, browsing the market, and then picking up.

How to reserve Doris Patisserie egg tarts by text
Reserving at Doris Patisserie in Sokcho wasn't hard at all. You can text to reserve starting at 6:00am the day before pickup, and they ask that you refrain from texting after 8:00pm.
There are three reserved pickup slots: 10:00-10:20, 12:00-12:20, and 15:00-15:20. You text them your pickup time slot and the items you want to order. A confirmation text comes back within 2 hours — and that's it, you're confirmed. ^ ^ They don't give any separate notice if reservations are full.

I texted to reserve the day before and then visited. Reserving at Doris Patisserie in Sokcho wasn't hard at all. I booked the last slot at 15:00 and made it an opening-run-style visit!! After the reserved pickup times end, walk-in sales are possible. When I visited, there were a lot of people coming for walk-in purchases too.

At Doris Patisserie, the famous Sokcho egg tart spot, they were also generous with extras as part of a review event. If you run social media, I'd recommend joining in.

The coffee machine was so pretty I took a photo of it. If you're planning to eat right away, ordering a coffee alongside makes it even tastier.

Ordering by flavor: original, cream cheese and walnut egg tarts
You know freshly baked egg tarts are the best, right?! That freshly-baked smell was drifting out and it put me in such a good mood. Beautifully baked egg tarts were waiting for me!!

This time I focused entirely on egg tarts and bought only egg tarts by flavor — original, cream cheese, and walnut. Next time I'd love to try the madeleines and financiers too.

The 15:00 pickup slot: give the reservation number, boxed on the spot
I arrived right at my reserved pickup time. I gave my reservation number (the last 4 digits of my phone number) and they immediately boxed everything up and packed it for me.

My husband, who loves egg tarts just as much as I do and shares my taste, got so excited he even took a photo to prove it, haha.

With receipt and egg tarts in hand, off we go home > _ <!!

They threw in one freshly baked original egg tart as a service extra ㅠㅠㅠ. I was touched by their thoughtfulness in letting me taste it right away. Even people buying these as gifts get to try one thanks to this extra. It made me so happy.

Isn't doing one full loop of Sokcho Central Market for takeout food basically the unwritten rule?! I bought a bunch of delicious things and headed home.

Since we were passing through Yangyang, I stopped to look at the sunflowers and snapped a proof shot with the egg tarts too.

I couldn't wait to try one so I pulled it out. The nutty smell kept filling the car and I just couldn't hold off any longer, haha. Freshly baked really is best eaten right away.

How to store and reheat Doris Patisserie egg tarts
The Doris Patisserie box has instructions for how to enjoy the egg tarts best and how to store them. Refrigerate if you'll eat within 2 days, and freeze if it'll be longer, so you can enjoy the same taste as when you first bought them.

I got one whole box of original first!! Original is usually the best of any flavor, so I picked a full box of that as my base. They really look delicious, don't they, haha.

I couldn't skip the cream cheese and walnut flavors either, and it was nice that you can mix and match them. You can even mix them with original, so definitely check the menu board.

Looking at them like this, they're just gorgeous. I'm the type who eats most of them on the day of purchase since fresh is best. Having them with coffee is truly the best!! Brewing coffee in the morning and pairing it with these makes the whole day feel happier.

For ones I plan to save, I individually wrap them in plastic and store them in the freezer. Rather than leaving them in the paper box, individually wrapping in plastic keeps them from picking up fridge odors, so they taste better when you eat them later.

As always, any food is best eaten right away. When taking one out of the freezer, I lightly run it in the air fryer for about 2 minutes, just enough to warm the tart shell through. Absolutely no microwave!! It was nice being able to pick from different flavors.

Is Doris Patisserie worth a stop in Sokcho?
Reserving at Doris Patisserie, the famous Sokcho egg tart spot, isn't hard, so I'd recommend booking ahead and using it. Getting it packed right away saved time, which was great. If you love egg tarts, I think this is a must-try.
Taking some home to eat fresh and keeping the rest in the freezer gives me such a reassuring feeling. I pull one out at a time and it brings back the fun of the trip all over again. Enjoying every bite. > _ <!!
