Pangyo fine dining date night at Kkweda: gazpacho to neungi duck soup
In short
Kkweda Pangyo Avenue France Branch is a fine-dining course restaurant on the 1st floor of Avenue France by Pangyo Station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi. For an anniversary dinner, the writer and her boyfriend had the Dinner Summer Stamina Course at 75,000 won per person — eight dishes from watermelon gazpacho to eel donburi, neungi mushroom duck soup and yogurt sorbet, with a highball and a non-alcoholic drink. Of every course meal the writer has eaten, Kkweda's was the best-tasting by far.

Not long ago, my boyfriend and I headed to Pangyo for a special, elegant meal at a course-dining restaurant known for its refined, upscale cooking. That restaurant is Kkweda, which has built a name for itself as a premium Pangyo anniversary Japanese omakase spot.

We tried the 'Dinner Summer Stamina Course,' and honestly, it might be the best-tasting meal I've ever had in my life. I'm satisfied enough to recommend it as one of the best restaurants in Bundang, so here's my review!
Where is Kkweda, and how do parking and reservations work?
Kkweda is located on the 1st floor of Avenue France near Pangyo Station, just a 5-minute walk from the station, making it very easy to reach by public transit. Beyond the convenience, the Avenue France building is filled with upscale shops, and the whole area is great for a fancy date, making it a good pick for anniversaries or other special occasions.
Parking is free for 3 hours. The building has ample parking space, so if you drive, you can enjoy your meal without worrying about where to park.
Since the restaurant may close early due to daily guest limits or running out of ingredients, I highly recommend calling ahead or booking through Naver Reservation before your visit.
What the dining room at Kkweda feels like
The first thing that caught my eye the moment we arrived was how minimal everything looked. The space had a clean, no-frills, upscale fine-dining atmosphere that built up our anticipation before we even stepped inside.
The interior was just as clean and elegant. In particular, the tableware set on the table and every single plating detail showed careful, thoughtful attention, and it really made us feel like we were being treated well. It's a wonderful spot for an anniversary or date.

Watermelon gazpacho, salad and Chodang corn custard
Taste Review
The first dish, watermelon gazpacho, had a genuinely surprising flavor. Watermelon, squid, and Korean melon — ingredients I clearly recognized — but somehow they tasted really unusual together.
If the watermelon flavor or aroma had been too strong, it would've been disappointing, but the balance was so perfectly struck that the very first course was intense and fascinating.

The next dish was a salad — the colors were gorgeous and it smelled wonderful.

Carrot, zucchini, prosciutto — ingredients we eat all the time, yet the flavor was truly different here.
In particular, it looked like raw carrot and zucchini, but they were incredibly tender when I ate them. Lightly grilled, with no visible char, but astonishingly soft in texture — it was a fantastic, mysterious flavor experience, one surprise after another.

The Chodang corn custard was also surprisingly good — a familiar flavor with a slightly distinctive, upscale twist. Again, the balance was excellent and it was absolutely delicious.
Charcoal-grilled Iberico pork, hanging tender and sea bass karaage
Taste Review

Next up was charcoal-grilled Iberico pork and hanging tender, served with roasted potatoes as garnish.

It was incredibly tender and delicious — you could taste the charcoal aroma the moment you bit in. The potatoes were sweet and soft, a really nice touch.
Next was the sea bass gara-age, which was personally my favorite dish of the whole meal.
I dipped it in the sauce like this, and it was far, far softer than I expected. It melted away like ice cream — barely needing to chew before it was gone. I couldn't figure out how they made it that soft.

The pairing with the cool highball and the non-alcoholic drink we had alongside was also excellent.
The highlight at Kkweda: eel donburi and neungi mushroom duck soup
Taste Review
Next came the highlights of the Summer Stamina Course: eel donburi and neungi mushroom duck soup.

First, the eel rice bowl came with sweet-savory soy-glazed grilled eel and pickled Korean melon. The balance between the rice, eel, and pickled melon was, again, out of this world. In particular, the pickled melon clearly had its own natural flavor without being overpowering — a fantastic accompaniment.

And the last dish, neungi mushroom duck soup, had a deep, rich flavor that was really wonderful.
The broth in particular was rich yet clean and light — it felt like it had been simmered with great care for a long time.
The duck meat was so thin it was almost falling apart, and incredibly tender — it disappeared the moment I took a bite.
Dessert: yogurt sorbet
Taste Review

The final dessert, yogurt sorbet, had a wonderfully upscale feel.

It was the smoothest, most premium sorbet I've ever had — not icy at all, more like a very dense ice cream. It was on a completely different level from cheap sorbet.
Is Kkweda worth it for an anniversary date?
With its luxurious exterior and interior, refined tableware, and portions that were satisfying without being overwhelming, this meal really let us experience what fine dining is all about. Of all the course meals I've ever had, this was, without question, the best in terms of flavor!
If you visit for an anniversary, you'll be 100% satisfied with the food — this was truly the best Pangyo anniversary Japanese omakase experience. If you want to share a special, unforgettable meal with the person you love, I strongly recommend it :)
