I came to Daegu for a little birthday trip!!! And it's just the right weather for outdoor drinking these days!! I'm so excited for yajang (outdoor pocha seating) 💛 so let me introduce a pocha that's perfect for it haha

Where is Eomuk Pocha Tong, and what are its hours?

Eomuk Pocha Tong is an outdoor pocha bar on the 4th floor of a building at 27 Hyodong-ro 2-gil, Dong-gu, Daegu. It's open daily from 16:00 to 01:00 (last order 00:30), closed the last Sunday of every month. For parking, you can use the nearby alleys.

We left Changwon for Daegu in a rush around 8pm!? Once we got to Daegu we were wondering where to go, and ended up getting pulled in by this outdoor pocha — booked a place to stay, parked, and after walking about 5 minutes it was totally downtown!! So flashy and glamorous haha

Eomuk Pocha Tong has both indoor pocha seating and outdoor yajang seating. This is the indoor look of Eomuk Pocha Tong, the Dongchon outdoor pocha place!? The inside is full of that pocha vibe too, right!?

This spot inside had the strongest pocha feel and I really wanted it!? But the weather's been so pleasantly cool lately!? So if there's outdoor seating, that's where we have to sit!!!! 🥹

Straight out to the yajang we went!! I don't drink, but I really love this kind of atmosphere ㅠㅠ 😝 These days I find pocha-style places more comforting than the pretty, well-decorated spots — coming somewhere like this just warms my heart haha

Ordering the premium seafood fish cake stew: kimchi pancakes come free

What we ordered at Eomuk Pocha Tong was the premium seafood fish cake stew. It comes with basic sides — 2 kimchi pancakes, salad, snacks, and water. This is the menu board at Eomuk Pocha Tong, the Dongchon outdoor pocha spot!? Both couples came straight from work without dinner, so we were starving and ready to eat anything lol

The kimchi pancake was seriously delicious — I love those old-school snacks so I scarfed down the whole plate before the fish cake stew even arrived. I really need to cut back on snacking, this is a real problem 🥹

How do the lemon peach and strawberry highballs taste?

My sibling ordered the lemon peach highball and strawberry highball, and they came out!! The lemon peach highball is exactly as the name says — a mix of lemon and peach iced tea flavor apparently!? The strawberry highball has a subtle strawberry taste, sweet and refreshing! Both would be good even for people who can't drink much, they said — and between the two, the strawberry highball was the better one haha

What's in the premium seafood fish cake stew: whole squid and blue crab

The premium seafood fish cake stew comes with whole squid, crab, mussels, shrimp, fish cake, rice cake, radish, and bean sprouts. When our order arrived ㅠㅠ🥹 the visual was insane — true to its name, it was packed with seafood along with plenty of fish cake and rice cake haha

Whole squid, crab, mussels, shrimp, fish cake, rice cake, radish, bean sprouts — it came out generously loaded with all sorts of ingredients!! Can you see how plump and chewy the whole squid is ㅠ The legs were down under the broth!! I would've been disappointed if there were no legs 🤢

There were 2 eggs in there and I ate them both lol Protein charged~~~🤍 Look at that plump, chewy rice cake,,, I'm a rice cake killer lol lol Ah, this place is just so good, seriously ㅜ

My partner served up a plate loaded with a generous helping haha My favorite bean sprouts, egg, rice cake, and radish cooked until soft — such a perfect combo,,🤍

A broth that calls for rice, with free refills

At Eomuk Pocha Tong, the broth refills are free, and rice cake, fish cake, egg, and bean sprouts can be added separately. And the broth is genuinely so refreshing,,, my partner ordered a Hetbahn (instant rice) the moment he tasted it. As carb addicts, neither of us can live without rice apparently — the broth really was the kind of taste that calls for rice haha

Since the broth refills are free and rice cake, fish cake, egg, and bean sprouts can be added separately, we added bean sprouts and ate up haha

Two couples' verdict on Eomuk Pocha Tong in Daegu

The restroom is inside the store, with separate men's and women's haha My overall impression of Eomuk Pocha Tong, the Dongchon outdoor pocha spot! You can drink while easing a hangover, and maybe because it's outdoor seating, my partner and this couple said neither got too drunk and it was the perfect drinking snack haha It's the kind of taste we'll think about back in Changwon, so both couples promised to come back and eat here again after our weddings haha The pocha atmosphere is so good that if you're looking for a perfect outdoor pocha to visit in this cool weather, I recommend Eomuk Pocha Tong, the Dongchon outdoor pocha spot :)
