Looking for somewhere to eat with my kid around Geomdan, I ended up at HOKATSU, a well-known spot in the Geomdan new town :)
I love tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) in general, and I found this place while searching for restaurants in Dangha-dong. What caught my eye was that it's been selected for the 2026 Blue Ribbon Survey.
There are so many good tonkatsu restaurants in Incheon these days, but HOKATSU's handmade-yogurt-aging method sounded a little different, so I wanted to try it myself.

Where is HOKATSU, and is parking free?

When you're out with a kid, easy parking matters more than you'd think. You just tell the staff the last 4 digits of your license plate and they register it for you — pretty convenient.
HOKATSU is on the first floor of the Megabox Geomdan building and fairly close to Dokjeong Station, so it wasn't hard to find.

Waiting times and the dining room at HOKATSU
Outside the store there's a Catch Table for registering a wait, plus a menu board so you can look things over beforehand. It gets pretty busy during peak hours, so if you'd rather eat at a more relaxed pace, coming a little outside lunchtime might be a good idea.
The interior felt cozy overall — it has the feel of a restaurant that's been running for a while, but it's kept clean, so I ate comfortably.

And off to one side, there it was — the 2026 Blue Ribbon Survey selection sign. 👀 Hearing it's been loved in Geomdan for a long time got me a little excited even before the food arrived.

What's on the HOKATSU menu?
Looking at HOKATSU's menu board, there were more options than I expected :) The tonkatsu section is the main draw, of course — there are sharing options like the Popular 3 Katsu and the Favorite Katsu that let you try several cuts at once, plus single dishes like tenderloin katsu, cheese katsu, and loin katsu if you'd rather pick your favorite.
The Popular 3 Katsu in particular is a tenderloin + cheese + premium pork loin combo, so it looked great for trying a bit of everything on a first visit.
For two people, there are set menus too. There's a 2-person set that pairs the Popular 3 Katsu with gyukatsu (beef cutlet) and tonkotsu ramen, so you get both cutlet and noodles at once — handy for deciding what to order when you're dining as a pair. For gyukatsu fans, there's also a gyukatsu set paired with tonkotsu ramen.
The noodle options were more varied than I expected too 🍜 — tonkotsu ramen, spicy tonkotsu ramen, and cold soba, so if tonkatsu alone feels like it's missing something, ordering a noodle dish alongside isn't a bad idea. Tonkotsu ramen leans mild, spicy tonkotsu ramen is for when you want something a bit fiery, and cold soba would be great on a hot day.
The menu was organized clearly into single tonkatsu / popular dishes / 2-person sets / gyukatsu / noodles / sides, which made it easy to browse.
Handmade yogurt dry-aging and the yogurt served before the meal
The most distinctive thing about HOKATSU was definitely the handmade yogurt dry-aging.
They age the meat using yogurt they make in-house from grade-1 milk.
They also serve this handmade yogurt separately before the meal. 🥄 There's honey at the bottom, and once you mix it in, it tastes tangy and sweet — a great way to whet your appetite before the tonkatsu.

Popular 3 Katsu: tenderloin, golden cheese and premium pork loin
What we ordered this time: ✨ Popular 3 Katsu ✨ Tonkotsu ramen Just these two.
The Popular 3 Katsu is a combo of tenderloin katsu + golden cheese katsu + premium pork loin katsu, perfect for when it's too hard to pick just one.

First, the tenderloin katsu was sliced quite thick, but it turned out to be much juicier and softer than I expected.

Thick tonkatsu can easily turn out dry, but HOKATSU's tenderloin kept its juiciness, so even with just a little salt or wasabi it was delicious.
And the one my kid was most excited about — the cheese katsu — has mozzarella and cheddar packed in, so cutting it in half reveals the cheese oozing out.

The breading was crispy and the cheese inside was rich and savory, so of course kids can't pass up the cheese option, haha.
The premium pork loin katsu had its own charm, different from the tenderloin. The lean part was mild and the fat layer was savory and soft, so even though it was loin, it barely felt dry at all.
Being able to compare all three on one plate, I'd personally say the Popular 3 Katsu is the easiest choice for a first visit. If it's your first time, I'd just recommend the Popular 3 Katsu — being able to try tenderloin, cheese, and premium pork loin all at once is also great for figuring out what you like :)

Is the tonkotsu ramen worth adding to the order?
And the tonkotsu ramen we ordered alongside! 🍜 It comes with a generous amount of bean sprouts, plus chashu (braised pork belly) and egg on top, making it a much more filling bowl than I expected.

The noodles had a nice chew and the broth was rich and savory, so alternating between tonkatsu and a warm sip of broth made for a great combo.

The chashu was thick-cut too, and eating it with the noodles made everything taste even better :) Tonkatsu alone can feel a bit heavy, but ordering ramen alongside meant we could sip broth in between bites — glad we got both.

How HOKATSU works for a family meal with a child
Overall, the breading was crispy and the meat was juicy, which suited my taste well. My kid enjoyed the cheese katsu, and we picked at the tenderloin and loin — it felt like a good spot to bring the whole family, haha.
Since I visited with a kid, it was especially convenient having options like the cheese katsu that kids would like, alongside things like tenderloin, loin, and ramen that adults would enjoy — an easy place for a family meal out.
Events to check before you visit HOKATSU

Check the event before ordering too, haha.

If you're looking for a good restaurant in Dangha-dong, tonkatsu in Incheon, or a spot in the Geomdan new town, HOKATSU is worth a visit :) Next time I go, I'll probably order the same combo again — Popular 3 Katsu plus tonkotsu ramen 👍
