A fall-ready mint brown tone-down that cuts the red and adds calm

Hi everyone, this is Soom! I went to Only For You Jamsilsaenae Branch to fix hair that had gotten sun-bleached and dry over the summer. I'd missed my root touch-up window and the whole thing had gotten lighter too, so a fall tone-down was urgently needed ;__;

So! I got a mint brown dye job, Milbon clinic treatment, and a cut from head designer Sehyun at Only For You. Here's the review!

What is the salon like inside?

Only For You Jamsilsaenae Branch is on the 3rd floor of the building. It's close to Jamsilsaenae Station, so accessibility is great.

The salon is spacious and stylish — when I first walked in it felt like a showroom.

Q. Did you visit a café? A. I came to a hair salon that rivals a café lol lol lol

Anyway~ that's the vibe in a nutshell. Designer Sehyun's taste is insane (in a good way), so today I'll focus on the process and the transformation!

Hair condition before the mint brown tone-down

Before the dye, it was a mix of red and yellow tones — basically "delinquent brown" ^^ You could see the gap between the roots and the old dye, and the lower part looked even lighter where the color had faded.

But the biggest issue was dryness ㅠ It was hard to leave the house without applying treatment and essence, so I wanted to fix the color and hair texture at the same time.

How does the appointment at Only For You work?

At Only For You Jamsilsaenae Branch, the process went consultation ➡️ dye ➡️ clinic ➡️ cut.

Color chart consultation with designer Sehyun

First I filled out a short questionnaire and had my hair condition checked, then

we consulted using a color chart. What I said mattered most was, please get rid of the red tones! Designer Sehyun recommended mint brown. I'd gone in only vaguely thinking "tone-down," but picking an actual color off the chart made it much easier to settle on a direction.

Mint brown tone-down color

First she carefully applied scalp protectant. Then she applied the dye starting from everywhere except the roots, connecting it down to the previously dyed lengths.

After waiting about 25 minutes, she applied to the roots and connected it, then we waited another 5 minutes or so. This was just for my treatment — the order and timing can vary depending on hair condition.

The finished color wasn't a green-tinted pop but closer to a calm brown with less red. Indoors it looked deeper and darker, and the overall tone settled into a nice matte finish — I loved it.

Milbon clinic treatment

After the dye, I got the Milbon clinic treatment in the shampoo room. Every chair in Only For You's shampoo room is a massage chair, so it's basically a trip to paradise lol lol lol lol

The clinic was done in two steps: first caring for the inside of the hair, then smoothing the outside so the nutrients that had been added would stay locked in. Simply put, she explained, it's a process of filling the inside of the hair and wrapping the outside.

To finish, she also applied a Milbon essence from the same line!

What I was most satisfied with was the next day! When I washed my hair at home, it felt softer than usual right from the shampoo step alone. It wasn't just right after the salon blow-dry — I could feel the difference even washing it myself, and I finally understood why people get clinic treatments haha

Side bang cut

The cut kept most of the length and mainly trimmed the damaged ends. She also gave me a side bang that blends naturally to the side, and I loved it so much!!! It looks pretty with hair down, but I also loved how, tied up, the side pieces nicely cover the empty space around my face.

At the end she did a beautiful blow-dry too, so I walked out feeling great haha

Dye + clinic + cut took about 3 hours total. Am I happy? Yes!!!!!!! GIFs lose quality so I'll show you a video instead haha — see how there's no patchiness even when I change the angle? And can we talk about the shine?? lol I feel good every time I touch my hair~~

You can really see the before/after difference, right? Toning down for the season changed the whole vibe, and even my dry hair turned soft — so satisfying! From the color recommendation to the side bang cut, designer Sehyun turned all my hair worries into an actual style! Especially the cut — I'd love to ask for her again next time, it suits me so well.
