How to get there from Hapjeong Station Exit 8, and what the restaurant feels like
Here's the exterior of the restaurant.

I was looking for a clean, nice place to eat shabu-shabu in Hapjeong and ended up visiting Shabu in Seoul Hapjeong Branch.

It's close to Hapjeong Station Exit 8, so it was easy to find, and being inside Mecenatpolis made it even more accessible.

The interior overall felt clean and calm. The tables had decent spacing between them, and the booth partitions made it easy to focus on the meal.

It felt comfortable for dates, of course, but also fine for casual chats with friends or family meals.

Vegetable-packed shabu-shabu and Vietnamese rice paper rolls at Shabu in Seoul

I love loading shabu-shabu up with vegetables and eating it together with the meat, so I added the ingredients one by one and cooked them. Dipping the meat briefly in the bubbling broth and pulling it out gave a soft texture with all the juiciness still there, and pairing it with vegetables made it light and clean.
And the Vietnamese rice paper rolls turned out to be more fun than I expected. Placing meat and vegetables on rice paper, rolling it up, and dipping it in the sauce — the crunch of the vegetables and the chewiness of the meat came together perfectly.

If you're looking for Vietnamese rice paper rolls in Hapjeong, it's worth enjoying them together with the shabu-shabu here.
Five finishing meals, one for each broth
With shabu-shabu, the final meal matters just as much — and a distinctive thing about Shabu in Seoul Hapjeong Branch is that the finishing dish changes depending on which broth you chose.
- Clear mushroom broth — egg porridge
- Spicy mushroom broth — rose risotto
- Blue crab doenjang broth — doenjang rice roll
- Sukiyaki — yakisoba
- Beef tomato — tomato risotto
Instead of just eating meat and vegetables from start to finish, properly finishing off the meal with a proper final dish made it pretty filling as a full meal.
