Daegu brunch café with a photogenic interior in Bongsan-dong: Dento

It feels like so many pretty cafés have been popping up in Bongsan-dong lately 👀 This time I visited Dento, a newly opened brunch café in the area!

The moment I walked in, I was like, "Wow, this interior is totally my style?" Out of all the cafés I've been to recently, this one had my favorite interior by far — I was already in a good mood before the food even arrived haha

If you're looking for somewhere to have brunch near Banwoldang, I totally recommend this new brunch café — Dento :)

Where is Dento? A 6-minute walk from Banwoldang Station

Dento is a newly opened brunch café located on Bongsan Culture Street 2-gil in Jung-gu, Daegu. It's within walking distance of Banwoldang Station too, so accessibility was pretty good.

The address is 42-5 Bongsanmunhwa2-gil, Jung-gu, Daegu, South Korea, 1st floor, and it's introduced as being about 6 minutes from Banwoldang Station. It really suits the distinctive, stylish atmosphere of Bongsan-dong!

Why Dento's interior is such a good photo spot

But honestly... the moment I walked in, I fell for the interior first......🫠

There are a lot of pretty cafés these days, but Dento didn't feel like it was pretty just for the sake of it — I loved how every single piece of furniture worked together in harmony.

The owner's sense of style....🫠

The colors, furniture, and props all came together beautifully, and it was such a great atmosphere for taking photos while having brunch.

Personally, this is my number one pick for interior style among the cafés I've visited recently 🤍

Even the spot where they keep the cutlery is so pretty.... 🫧

I checked Dento's Instagram and noticed they always keep seasonal flowers on the tables 💐🫧 I'm not just saying this — isn't it really pretty? And on top of that, it's such a freshly opened café.. so glad I came!!!

Looking at these photos makes me want to go back again ㅠㅠ

Even the flooring material looks so high-end...

It hit my taste so exactly that it made me want to decorate my future newlywed home this way,, 💍

Dento's menu and what we ordered

Dento is known for its brunch in Bongsan-dong. So the menu leans more toward brunch and desserts than drinks.

What I ordered was:

• Bite-size open sandwiches — pan con tomate
• Avocado salmon
• Romesco roasted vegetables
• Shrimp rémoulade
• Truffle ricotta
• Lemonade
• Iced latte

Dento's signature dish: five bite-size open sandwiches

The bite-size open sandwiches let you try five different flavors in small portions, exactly as the name suggests — perfect for someone like me who loves variety. And most of all, the plating was so pretty that I started taking photos the moment it arrived haha

They recommended starting with the tomato one.

Pan con tomate and avocado salmon

🍅🍅 First up was the pan con tomate. The tomato's fresh, tangy flavor came through first, blending with the plain, clean taste of the bread. Light and clean — great for a first bite! 🍅🍅

🥑 Avocado salmon. I was looking forward to this combination since I love it. The soft, nutty flavor of the avocado paired with the clean, mild taste of the salmon made for an overall gentle flavor. Rather than being intense, it let the ingredients' natural flavors shine through comfortably! 🥑🥑

Romesco roasted vegetables and shrimp rémoulade

🥕 Romesco roasted vegetables. I loved the subtle sweetness unique to roasted vegetables here. Add in the nutty, slightly deep flavor of the romesco sauce, and even though it's just vegetables, the flavor turned out surprisingly rich. Out of the five, this one had a distinctly different flavor profile, which made it fun. 🫧🫧

🦐 Shrimp rémoulade. A combination of plump shrimp with rémoulade sauce! While the earlier sandwiches were relatively mild and soft, the shrimp rémoulade was a bit fresher and had a more distinct flavor. Eating a different flavor with each bite kept things interesting and never got boring.

Truffle ricotta

🍄 Truffle ricotta. And the last one I had was the truffle ricotta. The soft, nutty flavor of the ricotta was accompanied by a subtle hint of truffle aroma — this one stuck with me mostly for its scent.

Personally, I think that's the charm of the bite-size open sandwiches — being able to compare five different flavors little by little. From fresh and tangy to nutty, the subtle sweetness of roasted vegetables, the savory shrimp, to the aroma of truffle — each one had a totally different vibe, and it was fun picking through them one by one.

Freshly ground lemonade 🍋

No brunch is complete without a refreshing drink!🍋 The lemonade lived up to its name with a bright, tangy lemon flavor that paired well with the sandwiches.

And Dento's lemonade doesn't get its lemon flavor from syrup — it's made by grinding fresh lemon directly. Switching between the different sandwich toppings and sipping the lemonade in between gave my palate a clean reset each time! 🍋🍋

Iced latte

The iced latte had a nutty, mild flavor! The combination of the shot and milk was creamy and delicious.

Even the tea coasters here hit my taste perfectly 🫧 Ugh... my heart can't take it...🩷

Who should visit Dento

Looking for a new café in Bongsan-dong? Dento! Looking for a new café near Banwoldang? Dento! Looking for a new café near Jungangno? Dento! Looking for a new café downtown? Dento! Just looking for a café in general? Dento!!!!!!!!!!

This place is...... somewhere I want to visit again, so I saved it right away. There were a lot of brunch cafés on the way to Dento too, but personally, Dento has plenty of photo spots and such a relaxed, spacious vibe — if your taste matches mine, definitely come check it out!
