The 2nd-floor two-seat table and atmosphere at Seongsu Darak, with many foreign guests

Inside, Seongsu Darak spans the 2nd and 3rd floors, and that day we sat at a two-seat table on the 2nd floor. Seating isn't very spread out, but the floor-to-ceiling windows give some sense of openness.

The interior spans 2 floors and 3 floors — it's quite large, but the seats aren't spaced very generously. So it can feel a bit tight... But there's just this cozy feeling, that warm atmosphere it gives off!! The windows are floor-to-ceiling too, so there's some sense of openness. I sat at a two-seat table on the 2nd floor! But it seems like word has really spread among foreign visitors?? Nearly everyone there was a foreign guest. All but a few tables.

Signature Darak omurice, split open at the table by staff

Seongsu Darak's signature Darak omurice (₩17,000) arrives with a fluffy egg blanket that looks like it might spill over any second, and a staff member splits it open right at the table. The egg texture was very soft, and the fried rice and omurice sauce inside were delicious too.

The dishes we ordered arrived! Let me show you what the omurice looked like at first!!

First look at the signature Darak omurice

Ta-daa hahaha So fluffy and soft-looking, right. That egg blanket looked like it would ooze out any second — and it really was delicious,,,

The staff member split it open for us like this!! The egg practically slid down, such an incredibly soft texture. The fried rice and omurice sauce inside were also so good that even days later I found myself thinking about it.. Maybe it's partly because I love omurice so much, but one thing's for sure — the omurice here is exceptionally good..

Chap mok-sal steak: pork shoulder that isn't dry

Seongsu Darak's chap mok-sal (pork shoulder) steak is ₩24,000 and comes with mashed potato cheese sauce, sautéed vegetables, wasabi, and whole-grain mustard. Despite being pork shoulder, it wasn't tough or dry — it was tender.

The chap mok-sal steak was also incredibly good,, The meat wasn't tough at all — totally tender?!! I thought pork shoulder might be a little dry, but it wasn't like that at all. Paired with the mashed potato cheese sauce and sautéed vegetables, plus wasabi and whole-grain mustard, it was completely great.....

The grilled vegetables were perfect... Eating the eggplant and bell pepper together with the steak was heaven Everything about it was perfect.

Seongsu Darak pros and cons

Seongsu Darak's strengths are the food quality and how friendly the staff are; the downside is that the restaurant isn't very large, so there can be a wait.

  • Pros: The food is delicious and high quality. The staff are friendly.
  • Cons: The restaurant isn't very large, so there can be a wait.

Anyway, that's it for now! This wraps up my honest review of my visit to "Seongsu Darak." Bye ♡
