While hunting for a good place near Konkuk University Station, I found Kosi Konkuk University Branch (코시 건대점) — a great Japanese restaurant to eat at. Since it has parking, I could drive over comfortably even during weekday lunch peak hours. It exceeded my expectations in everything from taste to service, so let me share my review!

Inside Kosi: seating, atmosphere and who eats here
The Kosi Konkuk University Branch space had a clean, wood-toned interior. It felt equally suited to a work lunch or a date.
The staff were friendly, too, which made a great first impression. I saw a mix of office workers and students eating out here.

How the shrimp tempura udon, half-and-half katsu and mozzarella croquette tasted
We visited as two people and ordered shrimp tempura udon, half-and-half katsu (pork katsu + cheese katsu), and one mozzarella croquette.
I debated between hot and cold udon and went with hot — the noodles were chewy and springy, with a really great texture. It genuinely felt like eating udon in Japan.
The broth was clean but full of savory depth too — I could see why this place is known as an udon spot near Konkuk Univ.
The katsu was incredibly crispy too. Since it was half-and-half katsu, we got half plain pork katsu and half cheese katsu — personally I found the plain pork katsu more delicious, with a clean flavor and clear savoriness.
The cheese katsu was solid and easy to enjoy too.
And the mozzarella croquette I ordered as a side — I only got one at first, but dipping it in honey made it so good that I immediately ordered a second one. If you're on the fence about a side dish at Kosi near Konkuk Univ. Station, I highly recommend it!
Is Kosi Konkuk University Branch worth a visit?
I visited through a good opportunity, but with parking available and both the udon and pork katsu being delicious, this feels like a Konkuk Univ. Station restaurant I'd come back to. The udon especially tasted just like what I had in Japan, so I think it'll be the first place that comes to mind whenever I crave udon. If you're looking for a Konkuk Univ. restaurant with parking, Kosi Konkuk University Branch — the house-made udon and pork katsu specialist featured on SBS's Human Documentary Live In the Moment — is well worth a visit!
